Focus ST170 into Transit Connect
What are the pitfalls? I know the Connect is Focused based but what difficulties would the convertion face.
From what I can work out part or all of the loom is required from the Focus as are the front rear hubs/brakes. Should the engine and box drop straight in.
I'll be using my current 3 year old 75bhp TDdi which is in as new condition. I would have like to do a Focus RS convertion but there is a 4k price difference between a damaged ST and the RS.

I just turned down a FRS engine and a Focus ST engine - Ł1k each.
Keep looking for an FRS engine!!
Other than that, good luck and get some pics up!!
Cool project!!

I don't think just the engine will do it, I'd need the entire car due to the number of parts to be swapped. There's a nice ST170 up for 2k on ebay ATM with only a small front bump.
The FRS would be nice but I think 170bhp in a connect would be enough.

I personally don't think 170bhp is enough in the focus so won't be in a connect. With all the expense/time involved fitting an st170 lump into the connect it'll probably be dissapointing at the end of it all and you'll wish you'd fitted a turbo
