G500 VRD underside resto
Well as some of you can mind after xmas i done the engine rebuild and i posted up some pics etc link below if you havent read it yet.
https://passionford.com/forum/showth...light=g500+vrd
So after bangor NIRSOC and seeing some AMAZING cars i decided i would have to step mine up a notch soo the next day after work i came home and gave her a MASSIVE bufty
hmm still not enough!
next day
look how shinny she is!! but no good up there!
so after deciding i would do a full rear end resto on the floor, i started to take stuff off bit by bit and being a bufty as a job i new i was gonna be picky.
so this is what the floor was like
not bad but DEFO needs work!
so bad end out
somewhere in that pile there is a 2way diff lol
so i got to work 2 weeks at the floor with a grinder and wirebrush head and this is what the floor looks like
then i took into the ALL the seams and put brushable seam sealer round everything and then i etch primed the floor and then a coat of red oxide primer and then renult sealer which i am told is some the best as it dries like flexy plastic! and its cheap.
and this is how it looked after
i was gonna paint it instead but seeing as its ireland and i also want to drive and enjoy this car i decied not to and just go for protection over looks.
next was paint the back axel and put in all the ploy bushins. i also put new track rod ends in the front and new suspenion arms and poly bushed the front end and new avo springs 25mm lower all round.
here is what the back end looked like
also painted the tank and got a chrome strap aswell
i also bought some new discs and pads all round which was great until i found out that the front calipers was siezed soild and it was no wonder the breaks were crap!!!
so i put a post up here about breaks and got TONS of great replys and a pm from tony NUTRuS which was VERY helpful and persuaded me towards these babys
which was lethal value and SO easy to fit!
so after spending TONS of money and endless amount of hours at her i never though i would see her done and nearly gave up hope.
but the other nite i decided to get back into her again and i got the back end up into her on friday nite and this is how she looks now
all she needs now is the new group a fuel pumped wired up and plummed in and plum in the new brake and fuel lines and bleed the brakes and then add petrol and start!!! and that should hopefully be in the next couple of days!!
also bough myself a boost controller its a hks evc 3 and its all wired up and plummed and ready to go just need to get her set and off i go!
im so glad she is nearly done as i cant belive the amount of hours i have put into this car it really has taken over my life since i bought her last oct.
hmm well thats it i suppose ill keep ya posted
cheers for the read and soz for the lack of pics i was soo busy getting her stripped!

nice job mate, the engine rebuild reminds me of mine
(https://passionford.com/forum/restorations-rebuilds-and-projects/33489-dutch-saff-100-longterm-rebuild-final-update-15-04-06-a.html)
i'll be following your underside resto topic, because I should do some things to the underside myself. I'm quite scared after I had to replace to side-treshold (welded) last week (https://passionford.com/forum/pictures-video-and-photoshop-forum/251226-dutch-saph-2wd-rotten-side-treshold-replaced.html)
So any hints are welcome
Good luck with the job
