Well consignment one is here, another should be here tomorrow.
Pleased with this and am now aware of the huge job in hand in order to make it fit and fit properly. The carbon cone fits beautifully, couldnt help but rest it in place
I have a dummy uppipe fitted and a dummy downpipe coming that will need to be modifed to fit the RHD setup. Its gonna be a pain but worth it in the end i hope.
One all the bits are here i can make a start at getting it bolted up to teh existing 2ltr, where i can check, check and check again that everything fits properly. This assembly will then be dropped back into the car so i can again check that it all fits as perfectly as possible, along with the external wastegate setup.
Once im happy, and only then will it all be taken off and sent for making properly and ceramic coating. Then the 2.5 will be put together.
But heres some long overdue pics guys, i know ive deprived you all recently.

Well i guess i owe you all a small update on the car.
Work has started on the car and im doing bits here and there when i get time. I spent 3 days with a heat gun carefully removing all the vinyls from the car and now have the painstanking task of glue removing and polishing every panel inch by inch.
Getting the car back to the way i want it will be a slow process but at least im on it now...
But heres a quick peek to show you that she is still very much alive and a shape of things to come.
Watch this space...

Small update,
100% of the car is now fully devinyled and 90% deglued... i'll continue on this when i get a moment.
As for today i decided to drop the 2ltr long block back in and start mocking up the up-pipe/downpipe arrangement and finding out where the turbo will sit best.
The motor is sat on her mounts and bolted up to the bellhousing. The manifolds are on and i have a dummy up-pipe in place with the turbo loosely bolted up.
I have lots of fab work to do but at least she has a motor in here and the turbo system is under construction.
Heres a sneeky peek of todays work

Yeah, it got too much for me mate and i took a 5 month break from the car.
The whole Mocom Racing thing got me down too, but thats another story.
Yeah, all the guys are fine in the BB. Just gotta get my nuts in with the car and get it moving

I dont have a pic mate but i can take some for you. The turbo stays in the same place. My headers are slightly unequal length, the equal ones move peak power further to the right and wasnt what i wanted.
Mine still sounds a little bit like an impreza on idle but after 2k rpm all that rumble is lost and its sounds more like a high performance motorcycle with a race can fitted.
I'll try and get some pics for you

Just read the whole thread from start to finish. Amazing built, with painstaking attention to detail. I'd love to have a project like this and put all the hours under the sun into it.

Needed to take the up pipe back off this morning to be sent back to the US.
Brigsport dont know if these quick pics show you enough of the manifold. But you can see the bulk of it and the collector. This collector is fastened to an up-pipe that goes into the turbo and from there you have the downpipe that runs down passed the gearbox to the main exhaust system.
Hope that helps a little

Progress is progress...
I know these dont look like much at the moment. (a bit of imagination required on your part lol)
But these are my fuel rails in the making. The rails have already been machined. Now some nice 6mm billet brackets should fasten them down nice

Brackets marked, drilled and checked for fitment. They fit perfect, so im quite pleased about that.
Brackets require trimming to suit and rails now marked and aligned for welding

Nice project mate - should be good fun when she's done
Just a thought though (and i appreciate space is an issue) the external wastegate take seem to be at a very sharp 90 degree angle, if there's any way you can angle it a little more into the gas flow you might find much better boost control
