xr4i restoration (very long overdue update)
been on with this for 18 months, not even managed to drive it yet. i'm the third owner with only 62,000 miles on the clock. its had a new d/s inner and outer arch and a few little bits of welding. its still wearing all its original panels, sills are rust free as are strut tops.
its got a cossie front bumper a grille and a new set of escort cossie wheels on.
the interior is all 3dr cossie stuff, just got to do i few bits then should be on the road
heres a pic of the engine bay, a little dusty but in very good nic
cheers matthew

this is a long overdue update, done quite a bit since this post, the interior is now 99% complete
fitted the arch lips again, this time with stikoflex, as they wouldn't stay next to the shell
then i painted the rear arches white about 12 months ago, and fitted new koni shocks
cheers Matthew

now the above pics were taken last year, and just after christmas i sold one of my sierra cosworths, so decided to crack on with refurbing the front running gear.
started with the n/s front strut assembly, looks rusty but only took 30 mins to strip it all out
good to see there isn't one bit of rust, so just a clean up and paint required
cheers Matthew

took all the running gear back to my work shop and began stripping, cleaning and painting parts.
i bought new discs, TCA's, poly bushes, track rod ends, rack gaitors and pads, the rest got overhauled
heres some pics,
just waiting for the new shockers to arrive, then i can start rebuilding the n/s
cheers Matthew

impressive, cossie bumpers totaly change the shit 4i ones, glad you didnt go down the gash colour coding route!
4i`s will always have a place in my heart
No reason i can think of why copper washers were in the kit...... probebly as kit is used on more than one application
