Slow progress but I got it on axel stands today and removed the rear trailing arms to clean up and refit, I have also noticed a small hole in the pas rear sill 😂 what a bastard think I'm going to learn to weld

right weekend passed i fitted the tie bars what a opain in the arse!!! no more flowflex bushes for me

fixed the handbrake drivers side drum, sticky cable and siezed auto adjuster

also fitted the 300mm brakes

Best thing I've ever used you have to be patient with it sand blasting is much faster but this stuff gets in every where and is safe in rubber and plastic lol

Had local paint shop make me up some diamond white I could apply with a roller as I didn't want overspray everywhere

Got the interior bolted back in today and replaced a clip on the leaky oil return so hopefully it's all MOT ready now

Cool project I just bought some bits for my xr3i cabbie for turbo conversion. I loved the euro look with the escos rims better than the current rims! Imolas are awesome wheels but escos on a mk4 is awesome.

I agree I like it so I've kept them
And all the other modded bits theo whole looks was more my taste but I though it would be cool to go back standard ish with some 90s wheels and a turbo engine for abit

After hunting for a mint rot free bonnet in white and gettin one that wast rougher than what I had I decided to just repair the one I already had I was rely worries as it was very pimply but turned out just to be pint

It's finally road legal, I can't believe it, just needs some mapping before I can address the body work

Few more bits to fit like my ERL water injection, Pre rad, HIDs and painted inlet magnifold and full rear bake rebuild, it's never ending.

Well bad news while at the final herdel of mapping karl noticed that the block was cracked on the front water jacket

Clutch is slipping at anything over 7psi and the oil return is shagged

So new engine and clutch are on the cards

Such a shame so close......back into the garage it goes

Ha ha yer thats the one mate crazy engine bay was sand blasted like 5 years ago but i removed everything lol crazy where sand gets i guess

Ive just bought another standard frst engine from ian at the RS Centre, as i was never going for big power it should be good enough

Just gotta get it back home, change the engine and put an uprated clutch in and it can go back to karl
