Zetec oil pump seal leak.

Zetec oil pump seal leak.
Hi all
Right I am having a bit of trouble with the Oil pimp seal.
Basically the engine has been fully rebuilt and I used the old pump with new seal ETC only to find that when the engine is running oil was coming down the side of the sump.
After a lot of mucking around I traced it back to the pump seal.
As it was a bit of work to get to I replaced the pump and seal with new ones and made sure there was no damage to the shaft or excessive wear.
Only to find the seal still leaking but not as bad.
The seal was a bit different too the first one that was a Ford item
I made sure the pump was lined up but no joy. I am finding this a little strange and left thinking it may need thicker oil.
Any suggestions.
