Saphire 24 valve build
Hi, after a brief stint of owning a vauxhall (had fords since i was 14 ) i can no longer resist the urge to own a rwd ford.
Ive taken on a mates part finished sapphire 24 valve project.
So here`s how it looks at the moment.
Boot full of bits

The car is currently fitted with a type 9 gearbox, which isnt going to stand the abuse i`ll probably be giving the transmission.
Which means i have to make a hybrid gearbox using a 2.9 4x4 bell housing/maincase and a scopio turbo diesel gear set and tail section. To remove the casing you need a special tool from ford, i chose to make one today in my lunchbreak
And here it is

Nice looking cars guys. I have a cossie kit with mine but i`m not sure whether i want to fit it or not yet.
Swapped my rev counter over earlier aswell as getting the bellhousing/maincase off the xr4x4 box. Wouldnt have been able to do either so easily without the help from fordpower.org.uk. the link to the revcounter guide is http://fordpower.org.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=4919. I need to find a way of conceeling the slight gap in the corner though.

Looks a good project. I had a 24v XR4x4 and it was great. No turbo lag and actually quite quick cars. My old one had cossie brakes all round, uprated suspension, fully cossie interior and MSD chip:
170mph cossie clocks and 24v rev counter:
Good luck with your conversion.
