@R5COS: Cheers mate. The underside has got two coats with diamond white colour today. Was a little bit hard to spray since the stone chip was white too and the colour was nearly the same but it turned out to be more shiny in the end though. I'll buy some clear laquer tomorrow and give it a final coat to protect the base colour. Pics will come...

Thanks Marco It has been a long way and hard work getting to this point but finally I can start assembling parts together again, really looking forward to that.

Btw, I was very close going back to Netherland again this summer, my sister wanted to have a look at some Escorts Jack had but yesterday she ended up buying a Focus RS here in Norway instead. Not a bad choice but would be great to say hi to Jack again

Yes it's a real pain in the ass, specially if your car has got sealer all the way back. Fortunately mine 'only' got sealer under the main floor but hard work anyway. Good luck mate, use your time and don't rush it

The underside was declared finished yesterday after a final coat with some clear laquer. All masking was removed from the car also but when I was ready to take some pics the fookin' camera wouldn't work! Will try to get hold of a camera asap and snap some pics for you fellas

Finally! I was on a short visit in the garage today and took some pics of the underside. Little bit difficult to see the actual nice white color on the pics but I think it looks very white and smooth. Delivered appr. 7kg with bolts, washers, nuts etc. for overhauling yesterday. When I get them back I can finally start the fun bit with mounting things back together again

It's good to see the whole car again after being tucked inside loads of plastic.

Also took a quick look back to one of the very first pics of the underside and found this one. Think it is a good illustration of what transformation it's has been going through.

A small update again. Received my new brake pipes here the other day so I was a short trip in the garage and started mounting some bits together. Have mounted the three pipes that goes from the T connection and the Goodridge braided hoses that goes from the floor to the trailing arms. I'm missing some plastic clips therefore I must wait mounting the rest of the pipes.

Yesterday I received all my bolts, washers, nuts ++ back from anodising. Since a lot of the bolts had some laquer on them it was difficult getting it all off but at least it looks a lot better than before. Here is some pics:

Since the brake pipes is kinda hard bending and making new copies of I've decided to just clean the old ones and coat them in grey silver. One thing I'm struggling with at the moment is the fuel lines that goes from both pipes to the tank and pump. I've seen that there is a special connection between the line and pipe on the pressure side but I just ripped them off during disassembling so I must try to make some new ones. And the old banjo bolt to the pump does not fit to my new pump. Been thinking of braided fuel lines but the diameter on the smallest one is 11mm OD and then they won't fit in the fuel/brake clips. Have found some places to buy nylon pipes now but I don't know if they are possible to bend and shape as the original ones.

Well, next update will possibly be during weekend - so long...

Some pics from yesterday and today's work. Beam, diff and trailing arms mounted together.

New brake pipes. Still missing some clips but will probably get these next week. There was of course one clip that had to break but fortunately I have some more of the same. Plastic + Ford = not good!

I'm using a Sony Cybershot DSC-W30 camera. Since it's a little bit difficult to get the correct light and stuff underneath the car I always modify and brighten up the pics a little bit in PS.

CV joints and drive shafts are now mounted together with a lot of new lovely grease and gaitors

Was about to mount the fuel cradle back together here the other day but by some reason the three pump mountings has gone somewhere far and I can't find them. As you probably know these are quite expensive at Ford at the price I got was 242 NOK for one, that's appr. Ł24. No way I'm going to pay that, totally sick and waste of money. I found someone pretty similar but the size was M8 and not M6

I understand what you mean and actually I've been thinking a little bit on that. But wheels is something that is changed within 30 mins so if I want the authentic look back I can just jack it up and change them

Now since I got back home from US on wednesday I can finally continue working on the car again. Still waiting for some bits back from powdercoating so I won't be able to mount the rear beam on the car yet and a 'small' order is soon to be placed at Woodford But managed to assemble the fuel pump bracket together yesterday, turned out really good I think. Some pics will get up shortly...

Considering that I've never done this kind of restoration before I'm very pleased with the result so far. I'm looking forward to work on the car every time I see it and I think the reason is that the finish underneath the car turned out better than expected. All the powdercoated parts was also just the way I wanted them. I'm afraid I would have lost the courage to continue if these things would have gone bad.
