I have never really done a full build thread BUT I have tons and tons of pics of the car since I got the thing so thought Id ask if people would be interested in a kinda project from start to current day kinda thing about the car?

Would take a while but could be a decent thread IMO of course

How did it get from this....

to this.......

It all started when I attended a rolling road day at AVA in March 2004

It made a whopping 219 ATW running a collins stage one chip and a magnex

car still has private plate that was on it when i got it.

Loved the car in this spec

You always said that u wanted a genuine 500hp cossie.

Can always remember when we were younger thinking a 300hp cos was fast and dreaming of what a 500hp one would go like

After unexpectd problems and setbacks you have never given up on achieving that goal (even after most would have thrown in the towel)

A LOT of people on here dont realise the time, money and sheer EFFORT these cars take and not forgetting skill from all involved @ AVA.

From a clean stage 1 to being in a mag and seeing abuse on the runway twice.

Would like to see every receipt!

Not long after the rolling road day I asked Colin(used to work at AVA and was heavily involved in the first few years of the car) the fatal question that every cossie owner will at somepoint ask a tuner...........

So how do we turn the boost up

One set of greens from a guy called Phil and a map sensor from a guy called dingy(cheers to RW for sorting this out) and a chip from AVA saw it make 250 ATW on a 4x4 cooler.

I soon added a T34/55 from turbo technics and a breather system, it looed like this and made 265 ATW on 21 psi if i remeber right

Next step was a 500 cooler from Pro Alloy and the boost set and checked and it ran 287 ATW and was the most powerful stage 3's AVA had seen on a standard engine.

BUT that was to start to spell the end of the road for the original engine as with over 70k on it now it started to smoke like crazy and burn more oil than fuel

Cutting a long story short it ended up doing what all cossie owners dread!

OOPS!

Remember I actually tried to sell it just before it melted as Alan had warned me that this was going to happen?

It had alot of interest but I just couldnt sell it

It would be a very different story if I had.

After a couple of discussions with the guys at AVA we decided on a new spec so started gathering some parts for the build.

The Je's are custom spec so took forever to come from the states, these were decided on due to the strength and weight.
