Default my escort mk3 se cab

Havent posted any pics of my car up yet as i havent really had the time....
i bought it as just a standard se cab with the original 3i engine. I stripped my fiesta rs turbo, sold all the bits off i didnt need then set about converting the se cab. I sourced a mk4 escort xr3i efi loom and fitted it to this car.i then converted the look to OFAB to except my fiesta turbo ecu and map sensor.(which was a complete nightmare!!!) The reason i chose the efi loom is because i wanted a factory look with the wiring,i wanted it tidy and i wanted to use my uprated cossie in-tank pump to keep things nice and tidy underneath the car. Also i was planning on using a mk4 dash as i am personally not a fan of the mk3 items(each to our own lol). The teather seats already came with the car so i decided on painting the mk4 dash to match as the grey mk3 item that was previously in it stood out like a sore thumb.believe it or not ive actually cleaned the interior once, but it needs going over again!!!lol I wanted to carry on the black and white theme outside so had a black rs decal set,and decided i wanted 17's as the original 15's put the car too low to the ground. The the Th2's came up at a good price although they were gold so i swiftly painted them black for the time being until funds allow for them to be diamondcut. Ive fitted my blueprinted low comp 1.9 american tallblock engine from my fiesta as well as my old headlight to headlight grs and fully modded cossie 4x4 turbo.I decided on modding the xr3i inlet to accept the efi injectors/fuel rail and throttle body so that i can avoid heat soak from the engine. In the fiesta just before i decided the change,i tried to get the car setup at TOTD on standard 8psi boost on the ofab ecu and injectors and frst efi inlet. He couldnt though because even at this boost level the injectors were maxed out by 4200rpm!!!lol it still made 178bhp and 172lb torque:thumb:
Ive since sourced uprated injectors and map sensor,so am looking at getting it mapped once the car has been on the road for a a couple of weeks.Im aiming for it to be setup for approx 18 - 22psi boost so should get some good figures hopefully. either way im sure it will scare me in a car with no roof!!!
got a few little bits to sort until its ready for the road yet.wont be too long i hope cause im hoping i havent missed our summer!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the essay, ive kept it as basic as possible honest
i will put an update in as soon as its on the road and mapped:dance:

little update really,it went straight through the m.o.t which is a good thing. Sorted the rack so i now feels like the steering wheel is attached again....Took the car for ther journey to combe to see how he drove. The inlet swap has made more of a difference than i thought...... it felt really flat,so i took it very easy and just cruised it there and back.I think this possibly be due to the lack of fuel supply from the injectors?maybe?
Anyway,it got parked back on the drive and left.lol.
I picked up my custom bayjoo chip from grove garage today,so now i just need to fit it with my integralle injectors and 3bar map and then its off to get setup in a week or so hopefully. Just got a couple of little things to iron out and then she'll be mint.Oh....and might have to look into gearbox options in the very near future.....lol
anyway, heres a couple of more recent pics.(PLEASE IGNORE HOW MESSY IT IS UNDER THE BONNET as i just wanted to get it running sweet before i give under the bonnet a good going over and tale it all apart again to fit another rocker cover freshly painted, new samco's etc etc

nice cabby
Be interested to see what power it does

Would be interested in having a look at this, and see how responsive it is compared to mine, it has a interesting engine bay configuration

thanks for the comments peeps.

Ultimate sleeper, yes mate they were fine, only needed the rears and didnt fit the fronts, and the car sits perfect. i think its because i run bigger rims than you.....so any lower and the car wouldnt be driveable. As for the dash,i desperately needed it gone so recently sold it.The interior is what is actully in the car now......lol just alot cleaner than it was when i got it...will give an update on what power it makes when its setup.Ive been told my setup "should" make the better side of 250bhp without much of a struggle.

its got koni suspension, cossie front brakes, and rs spec rear drums.Ive got a rear disc conversion that i could fit,but im a bit worried about fitting it as ive had bad experiences with rear discs in the past.Might fit them with a bias valve, but im not in a rush as it stops well as it is.Ive also got a series1 front rollbar setup to also fit in the very near future.....

bit of a long awaited update really. Had a few issues regarding getting it set up.Finally got it running a bit better. On approx 16psi of boost it made 220bhp and 225lb torque on totd rollers. Its not bad power but still could be a fair bit more. It is over fueling throughout the rev range, and would make a fair bit more if it can be leaned off,and upped the boost a tad more. It does go well as it is though.
All it needs is to be taken to grove garage as its their chip, and they know how to get the best out of their own chip.
Thing is,ive spent a hell of alot of money, and have had a good think, and its time to part ways with it. Gonna clean up the bay area a bit,as thats all it needs.
I will then throw it on e-bay and see what happens.

I could throw alot of dough into it,but................... i finally think its time to step up to cossie power.A 3 door or an escort cos.not sure yet.Only ever Had rs's since i was 18,im 26 now,and if i dont get one now,i never will......................

was fun while it lasted.......

i may be back though :thumb:

thanks for looking and your comments guys :thumb:
