Glad to see it in its new home!

I can't even begin to tell you the amount of work that went into that Inlet. Welding and blending that Throttle-body plate alone took ages!!

Nice project BTW.

I know. The inlet is a cracker!

I'm using the anti lag take off for the brake servo which is convieniant and runnign a brass T peice for boost, fuel pressure reg etc take offs at the end and I had to use the near take off for the air temp sender.

Roll on FITP. I've never managed to get a car there!

I had a play with the sensor gaps which helped. I also re wired most of my loom as the CPS wires had been reversed and not soldered, just taped together and coil wiring was scotch blocked

One step forward and 2 back! Gone up to do some work, went to start it, wouldn't start, then noticed the timing was out.

So wento to time it back up and noticed the one cambelt tensioner bolt was loose. The fucker has threaded the hole in the block! I re threaded it and used a new bolt but they just won't go tight.

So now I don't know what to do. Looks like the engine has to come out to drill and tap a new set of holes.

Had a quick look tonight with a fresh head and it looks like its actually just a bad thread in the block thats stripping the standard tensioner bolts. SO I put a tap through it and wound in one of the old mans high tensile, more argressive threaded bolts, still 8mm 1.25 thread and it seems to be holding it a treat. That and some locktite sould do the job fine.

Desided not to bodge the cambelt tensioner as its pretty important is doesn't work loose.
Water pump also had a light leek and I've got some braided brake hoses to replace every line on the car do would be easier to just drop the enigne out and start again.

Will probably get soem proper loombraid as well.

Your right. I just woke up this morning and desided I'd take the engne out, then I had no choice but to do it then. FITP is going to be a struggle now though! But saying that, it might not have got there at all if I hadn't done this anyway.

I know! The old inlet will be up for sale if anyones interested. Basically the car wouldn't start and it was suggested my injector port milling was causing an air leak. Which it wasn't and the day I bought the inlet was the day I got the car started! The new inlet really is some peice of kit though!

After all the help he's given me over the phone etc it would be a bit cheeky to take it anywhere else I've phoned him before at 10pm on a Saturday night asking why my car won't start!

Cheers mate. The standard rods will be the only thing holding the power back for now but it will safely put out 250 BHP with matching tourque I would think. The engine was running 20PSI in my Fiesta but never got a power figure but through 3rd 4th and 5th gear on straight roads it was very very quick. Quicker infact than a mates Focus ST.

Sounds like the start of an expencive RS journey. This cars about to run into double figures

Compared to the RS1600i and Series 1 set ups, the Series 2 ARB is simplily terrible! The RSi and S1 were both motorsport based and have adjustability.

Thats nothing fella,

i rolled my car down the country lanes one night about 6 years ago. It was past 1am on a monday night / tuesday morning. I called jano as i had no-one else i could ring in my phone book for that type of help. He was at the side of the road with a borrowd pickup truck and his pals scrapping my car off the road within an hour. He then took my car to his yard and re shell'd my S2 into a Mk5 escort within a week running on cossie management. He will help anyone who needs it and has saved me thousands £ over the years by explaining the pro's and con's of everything. I have alot of respect for him and always advise people to chat with him when building any car to help you save what i have.

Danny.
