Well I've not been on here in a while and I've finally got my arse into gear and got those pics from Ford Fair!!
Here you go fella, not the best but better than nowt.

Sweet! Thanks for the pics. Will look a little different at Ford Fair next year. The engine bay looks shocking!

Next on the list. Sort this out.

Ground all out and left this.

Also got the slam penel welded up.

Where can you get the bumper mount repair panels from. I don't fancy buying a whole front panel to cut up.

I'm sure I've seen just the bumper sections somewhere but can't find them! I ground out more than I needed, but always better to take off a touch too much and replace than leave some rot in there

After looking at front panels I thought sod paying £50+ just to cut a few sections out. So I made my own.

Both sides on, welded round and ground flat.

NO going back now

Can't wait to get it all finished and in paint now. It's such a big job!

Yeah sorry guys no updates. I've got a mate who works in a body shop coming round in January to finish and paint the engine bay for me so I can crack on elsewhere. Like building the engine etc.

No mike, I just labeled up what did what when I removed it and took out anything not needed. It's quite easy when you break it down and just think about it. I would have replaced my loom with a non inj but my loom was ropey so not worth selling on.

Muz- ah right i see, i may have a go at doing that with a spare loom i have then. Did u literally get all the old taping off and then just simply pull out the wires? silly question i know. Because, dont some of them run to the fuse box do they? if so, did u just cut off close as possible at the fuse box point? Hope that makes sense to what im trying to say lol.

Yeah. I untaped the lot. Traced it back to the fusebox, cut the wires about 3cm from the fusebox and then heatshrunk the ends. I've kept all the old wires and sensors in a box incase it ever needs to go back together (which it won't!)

I hadn't even noticed! I thought the cosworth front bumper and cosworth whaletail the car used to sport in the 90's was it's lowest point, obviously it had twin headlights as well

The RS Turbo has been feeling a little neglected due to me spending so much time on the XR3.

I thought I'd cheer her up with a few gifts.

Kent Vernier, brand new turbo oil feed, new rear hunb with stud conversion and Brembo brackets. This means I can fit up my rear calipers ASAP

And also a new turbo. T34 .48 with 360 degree brearing and cut back blades.

I think you just need to drill the threads out a few mm and hammer them in flush. The Brembos are off an Evo 8 with custom bells and rotas. I need to think about either spot calipers for handbrake or a hydralic handbrake though.

I'd like to say yes Dan. But I don't want to rush it again like I did for FF last year, so if it's ready it will be there, if it isn't it won't. I'll be there in the XR3 anyway if not

Lol I couldn't understand it either. It was right at the front of the stand for about 4 hours. I was thinking your cars due to be finished. Yours was in bits when I bought this car in June 08!

Finally some progress!

(finally) got my order of gaskets through from Burton Power. Every outstanding gasket I need to re build the engine. Along with a Focus RS headgasket and genuine exhaust manifold gasket I've already got from Matt Lewis.

Also bought £100 worth of paint today from Halfords. Your money don't go far these days! The Silver and etch primer are missing as I've also been painting the head. The clever chaps will be able to work out what colour the Brembos are going

Basiclaly the colour schyme will be matt black on all engine bits, inlet, thermostat, rocker cover, strut brace, breather etc, NO CHROME! With Silver sump and head.

Picked up a CompBrake bias pedal box and some heat wrap from FITP. I've also just got to finalise a few details with Tony at 909sport.com and I will have my handbrake calipers to assist the Brembos at the rear.

The slave cylinder for the hydraulic clutch conversion. It's a Hyundai .065 item. I want the set up to look as factory as I can, and I think these Hyundai cylinders (as pointed out in Karlos's thread) do look pretty OEM compared with the universal ones from Rally Design etc. This will of course be cleaned up and receive a liberal coating of matt black.

And today I've painted the cylinder head. I thought it looked a little tatty and upon cleaning it up, it had some corrosion on it so decided to paint it.

It's been de-greased, 3 coats of etch primer and 3 top coats of Silver Smooth Hammerite.

I've got tomorrow and Saturday off work and working on the car, so I'm going to do as much painting as I can, Calipers, intercooler, engine bits and make a start fitting the Newman Cam to the head.

I've got the bug back BIG TIME!
