WRK Underbody Resto Updated Carbon Splitter 6/5 Page 2
This is only possible with the help of those Twin's so I must give credit to those chubby little work horses
The car in it's standard trim went through a change in 2007 after I decided to keep the car and (waste) invest more into it.
So after a chat with David we decided to change this towards the end of the year to the WRC look which I wasn't that keen on to be honest but it's grown on me, like a fungus would.
So after driving it into a inch of it life at TimeAttack and the Perfomance Ford track day it was only a matter if time before something gave and in true MTX75 gearbox it was 3rd.
I still drove the car home but it was a real problem towards the end as it started to mash up the other gears. So it was inveatable that the box needed to come out and be sent to Quaife for repair.
A few things which always bugged me about the car was the way the Fuel system was ran and you'll see in the pictures below so you can make you own mind up.
After speaking with David and Stuart (the royal we) we decided since box was coming out we may as well do an underside resto, these two have done many of these before so it was nothing short of a win win for me on this project as I'm going to learn a great deal in the process.
So we started to dismantle the underside of the car, something even I can do
The car has never had anything like this done in the 14 years I've owned it.
Fuel Lines I was on about
So after the easy bit it was now down to cleaning the underside and sending bits of the Powdercoaters and Anodises.
Here's a few of before and after shots.
So the clean is well underway and I've even manage to rope my lass into helping out
So I made the call to Ghostbusters AKA David to pop round in his Nightclubbing best
Slimming don't you think
So it was time for the 3M cream cheese
Stuart took the pics

After we came back from Snowboarding/Skiing which it had plenty of time to dry we set about painting the whole underside.
I moved the brush around and Stuart painted

So with it well and truly dry we started to run the new fuel lines which I purchased at Earl's up at Silverstone, these are made to length which is why I made two journeys.........
So David never shy with a spay can set about the gearbox and diff fresh back from Quaife.

Looking lovely Warren, bit of a closet bufty eh
was thinking earlier, it's hard to believe, it's over 3 years ago i fitted the Secs ecu and wired up the other 4 injectors!
Maybe i could get a passenger ride sometime if i'm ever at a trackday without the little'un?
Keep up the good work!
Speak soon mate, Gadge
