also might be worth changing your oil as well, as i would imagine bore wash might have happened and alot of fuel is now in the oil.

glad you've found the problem.

dont get on here much at all anymore but wanted to see how you were getting on and glad to see james has found the problem

Good work James, and good work Stu for paying him overtime to come and help out a good customer free of charge.

I would DEFINATELY change the oil before you run it in anger mate, that oil will be very contaminated now.

Many thanks Stu absolutely A+ service from MSD still can't believe how much fuel was just pouring into the inlet

The oil is going be dropped today twice (minimum) then some good stuff, just off to collect a new filter

All back together with a replacement regulator cheers Mark (if you still get on here)

Great news its sorted fella

i had a fuel pressure reg collapse on my turbo engine, bloody nightmare!

it actually hydraulic'd the engine totally, lucky no real damage, but inlet was full of petrol along with the intercooler all hoses etc, the sump was full so needed new oil as it was like water etc,

new pressure reg fitted and new oil and drain the cooler and inlet and a new set of plugs and she was good as new took us ages to figure it out too untill we put a fuel pressure gauge on a it was reading around 20 bar the 2 grp a pumps i had feeding the rail even deformed the alloy swirlpot there was that much pressure.

The clean up operation starts tomorrow - intercooler's coming off, and the oil is dropped and another oil session and filter to clean through then put the good stuff in with a new Ford filter.

It actually fires on the button and for the few seconds i ran it it pours and is very quiet

Run new oil though it, well 15 litres so i think its finally cleaned out - smokes slightly but no wonder with what's gone through the turbo & exhaust, theirs black syrup oozing out of the gaskets/downpipe and crisping so it wants a good run though but i might get the blower rebuilt in July now.

Finally out the garage after 6 months -

it's a nightmare when there not running right and you just want rid, but when there running good your feelings totally change for them

you would've regretted getting rid of it

Small update -

The car is all back together and seems to be running fine, it actually ticks over better than it did last year so a trip to the Blackpool in a couple of weeks will iron out any minors issues then i'll get a power run done for this spec

Few goodies have been arriving in the post over the past week.

First thing to sort was the brakes - With the CXN's restricting the size of brakes i can run i opted for a set AP 4 pots which are needng a refurb and D+G 324mm FRS discs as i shouldn't need to run spacers on the front as their mm's off the arches as they are.

And a set of verniers, i've been wanting a pair for ages but never got around to buying some so snapped these up off Graham Hathaway

And the Graham Goode gauges fitted - just need to wire the illumination up and the VOLT gauge (should be fun as i'm NO sparky )
