Right slight update

The cars back in the paintshop having some finishing touches, inside the door shuts weren't the best so they have been taken back and repainted along with the rear panel where a small dent above the numberplate that was only noticeable fully once the car was painted. The car has been flat and polished so it's finally looking awesome

Few pictures as it stands, I'll have new pictures later in the week when the cars been hand cleaned, polished and detailed ready for Croft on Sunday

I have recently been suffering from bad running problems so the car will at some point have to go back to MSD as it seems theirs a problem on the fuel side of things when the car is travelling on the motorway at around 70-80mph.

At first i thought it was the cossie misfire issue so it's had new phase sensor, CPS, 3 bar, 3 sets of 071c plugs, dizzy cap, arm, fuel reg, 909 leads, grp A coil, fuel filter, oil filter and the car feels alot better and around the town drives spot on but i can't seem to shift this splutter between 1900-3100 rpm when driving on the motorway at around 70-80mph on vacuum pressure.
When the car boosts it goes like a train and has no problems at all which has me stumped but it appears it has been this way since i had an EVO chip fitted so it's best it goes back to be checked.

I rebuilt the car to look as standard on the exterior as possible but i have since got bored with that look so i have fitted a set of RS500 front bumper grills and have just sourced a brand new RS500 rear lower spolier and will be on the lookout for the rest of the kit to make the body more aggresive.

But saving the best bit for last, i have just put a deposit on a new set of Compomotive CXN 7.5x17" front and 8x17" rear i couldn't resist after seeing many wearing these at ford fair i knew i had to have a set so hopefully i will have these with me within the next month. Yes i know they are narrow compared to some but i didn't really want to cut into the arches so these are better for me.

Under the bonnet will be getting attension this winter, i have just bought a secondhand Escos heatsheild that i can cut to fit, and have a selection of alloy parts waiting for the powdercoaters. all items will be powdercoated silver and new blue hoses will be fitted along with my blue rocker cover which should look awesome against the black paint.

A few pictures from National day

More updates soon

Small update

As you can see from the pictures the front bumper was the first thing. I just received my brand new RS500 lower rear spoiler off DOO and i have sourced an RS500 upper rear spoiler, the car will always be badged as what it is an RS Cosworth but i just think the 500 stuff looks better. The rear decal and pin stripe are being replaced by the standard darker colour RS Cosworth item.

Couple of picture of how the car stands

Small update -

The lower spoiler arrived from DOO and is spot on brand new in the box, not a genuine 500 item but the same without the V in the centre.

Many thanks to Andy Pen for sorting the dash cover, perfect for Ł20

I know what you mean about standard looks, I was the same when i got mine But I think the Black ones look SOOOOOOO much better with the 500 bits!

for some reason the white ones look best with standard kit IHMO and moonstones look good either way.

A complete disaster, i'm absolutely gutted to the core.

The wheels i had bought from a Passionford member arrived in the UK and i rang up to collect and they inform me that my Gifts have Ł320.00 import duty and VAT @ 17.5% on top making the total around Ł570.00 :x :x :x

- The items were packed 2 wheels per packet
- The box was labelled with an insurance sticker saying the replacement value was Ł1200.00
- And marked as GIFTS
- Customers inform me that items bought over the internet valued at more than Ł16.00 or Ł18.00 are changed and items sent via a friend or family member are charged after Ł32.00 (robbing f**king country)

I have spoken to the sender and he's completely spot on and has said let them return to sender and he'll send them back individually and priced at Ł15 each.

If anyone can let me know as much information as possible regarding ways of getting around this can you please comment, as both parties don't want the items bouncing around the postal services in 2 different countries

Many thanks

Chris.

this is correct, even a gift over a certain valve is taxable, just if hes going to mark as Ł15 hope they don't go missing, overwise you are not going to gte much back.

I had a fmic for my Scooby from Japan, I got that marked up as warrenty repair/ return... Dodge the import tax, also had Ł4K's + worth of shortblock from the USA marked up the same... I had to pay about Ł60 quid for it, but it saved me loads doing it this way...
