Default new zvh, dyno results ! 10/03/08

As above thought i'd post up a thread about my friends red s2 ive got the job of rebuilding, it has recently broken two pistons in between the rings and is now having uprated ones and a few more bits and bob's done to it. This time its having 86mm red top xe pistons, standrad rods, arp bolts, bearings gaskets etc, kent cvh 35 cam with new lifters, springs, valves, vernier pulley, 071c plugs, 8mm magnecor leads, new dizzy, stage 3 turbo using .48 housing, airtec front mount cooler with airtec rad and the twin fans, pipercross filter, mongoose exhaust, and a few chrome bits to finish off, cant wait till the bits start arriving although its not my car i get the job of opening it all !!

will post some pics up later for those interested

new dizzy

stage 3 turbo

engine bay shot a bit oily after the pistons let go but easy jet wash and she'll be back to normal

a quick shot of the car

That bottom end looks sweet. while its out you may aswell put a crank sensor in just incase you upgrade to efi at a later date. save taking engine out again .

well i took the old girl to jamsport today to have her set up and jamie done a fine job, we did have it set at more power but the new standard clutch isnt up to the job so we backed it off to where it is now. I will uprate the clutch to a 4 paddle or something in the next month or so then up the power again, he was impressed with the torque figure and im happy with it,

It's that midrange torque that will kill the clutch more than BHP so is there no way to fill out the top end some more? Or does it run 11psi right across?

to be honest im not sure i will have to fit this new clutch and then possibly have another quick power run to see,

yes mate, ports are all standrard, all we did was new valves, seals, kent cam and vernier ? would port work help to hold the torque then ?, but like i say it did provide more when we added mor advance on the dizzy but once the clutch started to slip there was no going back so this is the best figure we could get without it slipping.

yeah a good ported head will help you hold the torque all the up the rev range , when my cvh was on a standard head the power and torque curves were like yours but with the ported head and few mods it was holding the torque much better ive got the same torque as you at 2500k about 145ftlbs but at 6000k its droped a bit but still got 230ftlbs

if i build another i might get the head flowed to see how it performs, but we're pretty hapy with the figures and also knowing it has more in it to give once ive fitted the ap 4 paddle !
