FRST rebuild - Finished 15/04
Well after a 5 month spell without a fiesta i thought it was time to get back into one. I managed to pick up this car in a trade with my Series Two. completely standard but does need a complete body restoration to get back to standard.
The body on the car is the main and only issue from what i can see to bring it to standard it will require:
Requires
2x front wings
1x front panel
1x scuttle panel
1x passenger side A-pillar
2x complete rear quarters
1x back panel
1x bootlid
1x bonnet
Inner and out sills
Going by the list it sounds like a right nail but it's just a bubble here and peeling laquer there but overall it is genuine and will easy make an absolute restored minter.
Comes with a few new spare parts
Mongoose s/s 4" rolled out
Koni -40mm kit
new Ford FRST gearknob
new Ford FRST steering wheel
new Ford lock set 1 key
new Ford cam belt
new Ford tappets x8
new Ford edis module
new Ford amal valve
new Ford head bolts x8
rebuilt T2 turbo
The engine
The engine feels tight and quiet with 103k on the clock but i'll have a real good inspection tomorrow in the light, might throw a recon'd ERST gearbox in and i'm in two minds what to do with the turbo side of things, the T2 thats on it is mint no smoke and boost perfectly but you can't beat the T3 feel.
The interior
Is absolutly perfect with no marks or wear on either of the seats. With it being a later car it comes with the window switches on the door pockets and a black centre consol, which i might change for a normal one as i think they look better.
Warning Pictures can be very deceiving
Area's of concern:
No rust at all here

Engine bay
Mint battery tray
Interior - actually needs valeting
Seats in the wrong position
From the pictures you can see it's not completely rotten it's just a little here and there, the bonnet has gone slightly on the inner lip so that will have to go so that's up for sale but the doors seem fine, the boot lid may be savable as the under side is solid it's just slightly around the wiper but that can be cut out.
The slam panel has about 4 holes drilled in from passed alarms so that will be replaced and the good genuine wing on the passenger side will have to be removed to sort the A-pillar out
Going by the looks of the car once the outer panels are removed i expect some of the inner panels to be shot so they'll be replaced too like the last car.
And now in the bodyshop ready for the stripdown so pics to follow over the next week or two.
Bodyshop update - all the kit and bumpers off for inspection and it's not as bad as originally expected.
Bonnets ordered and all the other panels will shortly follow.
More updates next week

Update time:
Well the car was actaully worse than orignally expected with the whole passenger rear being reconstructed as the the pictures will show. This car has had genuine panels this time and the fitment is pretty much perfect. Once the screen was removed to tackle the A pillar it unleased a bigger job which is why it's taken longer.
These are the pictures i have of the car to date but these were taken 9 days ago so i'm hoping it's a bit further on by now.
And new dealer plates
More of an update next week, hopfully it'll have paint on it

Right the car's back, still the caps to collect and the under bonnet to get sorted which i'm starting today.
Hopefully the weather stays fine tomorrow as i'm off for 2 days so i can get cracking on it and should get most bits done.
Heres the finished pictures and i'm over the moon, some pics aren't the best quality but i'll add a couple of bigger ones at the end
Under bonnet painted needs to be stripped right back and sorting
