"EDA" front end freshen up!!
Couple of weeks ago decided to give the old girl a bit of a freshen up ,so i stripped the front end of all the mechanics and wiring, and like good friends Dave and Stu aka the" TWINS" were more than happy to give a hand. After all Dave loves a smooth engine bay (make a change to have my own car in my garage being worked on), but today they did get a lot of old stone chip and paint removed, and as usual Dave found plenty of holes for me to wield up in prep for a cleaner bay, .
LOOK WHO JUST GOT UP! AND WHO HASN'T COME DOWN!!!
THEN A BIT (LOT) RUST TREATMENT!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheer for today boys.. until the next!. (grinding and filling)
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!...

Its having a 2.1 pinto fitted (when Daves built it) on twin carbs .
Blimey caught us in that first pic still asleep lol
Not bad for 6 hours work ,next stage grinding the welds down and some filler work
Big plate welded in above the steering column is for the hydrolic pedal box ,which Dave is fabricating the brackets for .

Got new pedal box through the post along with new top mounts .
so had to start a bit more fabrication . Sorry Dave and stu haven't ground down wields yet, but have knocked up top plate reinforcing plates, and modified holes in top plates for new suspension top mounts, and almost got pedal box in its final position!!!

Got all pedals into position so that the car will be drivable now! better than th last persons attempt
Old pedals
I am off next week and the plan is, with the help of a couple of really good friends "THE TWINS" . is to get the front end smooooothed out ready to prime and paint!!!. And like real super heroes they came round yesterday and all day today and rubbed for england.
I have also found out that the stone chip under the wings was applied years ago without no keying to the surface!!! So with just a scrapper it all comes off. so another job to do At least i can retreat and re-stone chip under there to make it all better again
Cheers Dave and Stu looking good

Cos somebody had done some wielding over the years they had lost all the front bumper mountings,so this weekend i had to work out and fit 1/4 bumpers before i could carry on.And 1/4 bumpers are a sh#t to fit nicely when you have got the correct mounting points and iron that haven't been run over by a steam roller!!!
But got them looking not to bad!!
