Are you going for a near enough full mock build before paint? i would if it was mine, there's nothing worse than a lovely paint job with a bit that needs " addressing " with a hammer to get something to fit LOL!
Hats off to everyone involved!!
Cheers Gary

Then plan is to have it fully built up and running before striping it down again. Like you say i don't want to be beating panels or drilling holes once its painted

Trouble is once this is finished, you know whats getting converted next

Cheers However, I have seen another Blue Sportka today in the bright sunshine and it does look

Making the cradle, links and hubs is the easy part. Modifiying the shell to locate it properly and making the rear srut towers would be the hard part.

Update 03-01-2010

Not done much in the last month or so as tbh its too f##king cold

Andy kindly came up last sunday and the floor is nearly ready for primer now. Removed dummy engine so can finish removing seam sealer from engine bay ready to stitch weld the front.

Had another 0400 start yesterday to drive up to Surrey to get my latest purchase out of a certain Escos ..........

Mmmmmm YUMmy Recaro SPGs with side mounts and adjustable runners.

Hopefully get some work done this week when i get myself a heater for garage

Update 14-01-2010

Unfortunately the grinder has been out again

To ensure there is room for future improvements (namely a 4 inch downpipe ) the bulkhead has had the chop.

Measured it up to match the inlet side and a shower of sparks later we have another hole

Had to cut the bottom steering column mount about, so easier just to totally remove it and redo it. Couldn't find any 3 inch mild steel tube to make one from, so it was onto the lathe again to machine one from some bar stock.

Hey presto one billet lower steering column mount

After some tickling with the grinder the new lower mount was in place ready to be welded into posistion.

All welded in

And a overview of the engine bay as it stands tonight with bulkhead looking more symetrical

Compared to before

Thanks again to Andy for his cutting/welding skills
