After a few issues with the change of coolant set up from 2wd to the better 4wd layout got the car to JKM, although 24hours late

Left the car there for Dr Jim to do his stuff......

Some minor snags later, and a bottle of thread lock gone, the result was...

Collected the car and left pondering Jims thoughts.........."that's going to be a handful"

So onto Bedford 2014....... An early start at 0230 for the 280mile drive on the beavertail. Had to make do with just my Bufty wheels as unable to get track wheels due to bad weather closing the bridge over to Cornwall where they are stored

Arrived in time for track briefing, signed on and then got car off and over for noise testing....now 90.1db @ 4000rpm compared to 87.5db at Brands in 2012.

However, the tyres combined with the conditions and a 2bar boost spike made spinning the wheels in 5th down the back straight quite good fun !

Track dried after lunch, if only briefly, and got a chance to feel how it picked up with some traction.*

Front arb has made a difference, but to what extent I won't know until I get a dry day in. And had no overheating issues either on rolling road or track. Now fitted with a turbo cooler as well for extra safety

Car does look good on THs*

Next outing is at Combe next month, so going to fit some stiffer front springs, hopefully a rear arb, and of course the R888s (weather permitting).
Fucking hell I bet that's a hand full .How well does it stick to the track?

Finally got the car taxed and motd, and the registration transferred on. Got some funny looks off the police when i got stopped for a security check on the way into work .... Although he did note 'awesome' next to the reg on the search report

Went to Tesco shopping*

But as usual things have gone to shit*

Attended a Charity Day @ Combe (like last year) and only managed a couple of sighting laps, an out lap, a warm up lap and then boom the boost was gone.

Initial thoughts of popping a boost hose off like last year were soon extinguished by the fact the turbo was seized solid

So it was back on the beavertail by 0930 and I had an early lunch.

Fast Fords on breakdown truck shocker

To be honest, although the power was nice, I need to get the handling sorted first. It's currently very much a point and squirt car.
The turbo has been replaced by a T34 again, but with a 0.63 exhaust housing, and is back to JKM soon fora remap and check over.

Needed some road tyres for the Dyno runs so fitted*some Escos rims, although they need a refurbish as the previous owner used them to park with.

And here's how it looks with the later YBP version of the engine fitted. No iconic cam cover, but more in keeping with the subtle look.

Next outing is RSOC @ Combe on 5th July followed by RSOC National Day @ Donington and Ford Fair @ Silverstone.

Front: Needs lower arms modifying for spherical bearings and some in situ camber adjusters. Shock revalve and respring. Low speed scrub needs looking into, Danny did explain it but it went over my head tbh. Ackerman angles and shit

Rear: Shock revalve and respring. Maybe fit rear ARB.

After a slight delay caused by lazy cheese eating surrender monkey ferry staff, got back to UK, collected the trusty Beavertail and made way back to JKM to collect car.

Jim checked map over, made some adjustments and fitted a map switch facility to make it more usable in the wet. The smaller turbo has dropped the power a bit, but 385 is still enough. Can now switch to 340 or 300 as required.

Looks like your tip toeing round there mate, mine doesnt like the wet either. Lol

ive got a 12 position boost control on mine and to be honest i dont really wind it on much, apart from santa pod etc. Its about 250 at the wheels on low boost with little lag and its really usable.
sometimes less is more.

Loving the updates mate keep them coming.
