Surely if your doing a "sleeper" you should go for a stock colour, shouldn't you?
I have to say though, I do like the white!!! |

agree, would look great like that but you'd have to be dedicated to keep it a sleeper as with a car like this you'd want it to scream little animal when you saw it imo. stick a spoiler on it?

its awesome fun, the boy racer chav's are good when there all out trying to impress their mates in their shitty little paxo's and you pull up the side of them in a ka and just grin at them, but by far the best is posh snobby cunt's in big expensive cars trying to impress a date they have just picked up, they dont like it at all.
would richie's be that mjuch of a sleeper though with the cage in it? unless you tinted the windows, then just put some tights over the rear lights and put a nice big 3x6 inch oval exhaust tip on it just for full effect lol.

Personally i would go with gray fella, i think the car would kinda blend in the the back ground,(if a caged up,rwd, cosworth powered ka can blend in to the background)
although i kinda like the idea of white

Just had my paint man round to assess how to split the prep work. He loves the car and can't wait to paint it
So from tomorrow its full steam ahead with it. Need to get it prep'd, etch primed and sealed as soon as possible as he has a slot in 4 weeks time. Started the main car loom last night I hate wiring ![]() ![]() Using the standard Ka loom with all the excess shit cut out. Removed loads already and there is still some more to go. Going to fabricate a fuse panel to go where the stereo would be. Need to source some re-settable fuse thingies if anyone knows where from |

i was gonna start with an old loom but only need starter, fuel pump ,brake lights ,wipers, fan, couple guages and feeds for ecu so gonna end up doing one from scratch.

Cheers ![]() Using old loom for all connections to lights, wipers etc. Not using stalks, its all going on switches apart from headlights/fog which is on dash(mk6 fiesta) and the indicators/horn/full beam are going on steering wheel. |

Managed to do some more work on it this week
First off I finally got round to cutting the dashboard to make it closer to the bulkhead. There is a natural line on the fiesta dash just by the air vents that supply the windscreen, so out came the grinder and I cut 80mm off. Removed the dash brackets and cut 80mm from them and rewelded them up. Fitted dash back in and apart from a small amount of trimming around the cage its spot on. Going to make a small bracket to hold the lower part secure on the transmission tunnel. ![]() Then moved onto the rear of the car to finish the boot floor. When we fitted the exhaust tunnel there was a couple of small areas that weren't quite flat/staright from where I removed the crossmembers abit crudely So removed the damaged area and measured up to get some metal cut. This would also enable us to raise the boot floor by approx 10mm. Another bonus is that this extra clearance will allow the rear diff to be changed without dropping the cradle ![]() However.................... After some thinking I just got the 9inch grinder out and cut the lot out ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Measured it up and fabricated a raised floor panel to fill the big hole This gives me 75mm clearance above the diff and give me the option of running twin 2.5 or 3 inch exhausts over the cradle ![]() And machined up some tapered guides for the cradle mounts as its such a good fit I don't want to be tapping it into place when its all powder coated These will be welded into the cradle and also allow the mounting bolts to be hidden up the tubing. ![]() Modified the transmission tunnel to take the exhaust so that it runs along the gearbox and above the gearbox mount. Plan is to have a 3 inch system from the downpipe back till just in front of diff then split into twin 2.5 inch pipes/silencers.

Love it Rich, alot of fabrication going inot this, my kind of project! Love it, absolutely love it.
Are you going for a near enough full mock build before paint? i would if it was mine, there's nothing worse than a lovely paint job with a bit that needs " addressing " with a hammer to get something to fit LOL! Hats off to everyone involved!! |
