Escort Mk4 xr3i Track car to Race car conversion.
Right this is my new car i just bought its a mk4 escort xr3i track car I sold my mk6 escort rs2000 to pay for it The plan is to strip it and rebuild it up to xr challenge race car spec as i want to compete in that in the 2009 season after ive done a few track days to get used to the car and the circuits i will be driving on.
right so heres the pics as i got her
current spec of the car is :-
fully rebuilt 1.6cvh 2700miles since rebuild
piper cams
competition ht leads
rally car spark plugs
K&N air filter
Janspeed manifold connected to straight through exhaust with peco back box
Apex springs and monroe shocks(35mm drop)
Omp Strut brace
Rs turbo calipers with EBC grooved discs and red stuff pads
Goodridge stainless brake hoses
Full roll cage with built in rear strut brace
Sparco bucket seats
Sabelt 4 point harnesses and fire extinguisher
Along with this the car has a new starter motor,radiator, electric cooling fans
The car also cam with about 7 boxes of spares including most of anouther engine and 11 wheels and tires all very good tread.
The plan for it is to get rid of the badboy bonnet as im not keen on em,then sell the home made cage and buy an FIA approved one, sell both buckets and buy one bucket seat (like martin hadlands) but not carbon lol as im not that rich
Next im gunna fit some yokohama cut slick tyres
Fit 6 point FIA approved harnesses then fit an internal fuel cell and remove the standard tank, Then im gunna track it for a bit doing as many as i can and getting my race license After this im gunna get rid of the suspension and fit gaz coilovers all round along with a quaife LSD. Right think thats about it for now updates will be a little slow for a month or so while i get it an MOT
