You might want to get some exhaust heatwrap for it as well mate

yeah just finding the best one for air flow....lol
heat wrap is ordered as its close to the starter anyway....

they are off the 2004 Gixer 1000.

the plan was 2ltr zetec in a mk5 fiesta, but now building a Mark Nordon racing Kit car with an R1 motor. also bought a new car but you wont like me if you know what it is! in a yr or so im looking into cossie ownership

I`ll give u a shout soon! If u went ahead with fitting them on the zetec, how would u get a vacum for the brakes?

Take the vacuum from the old injecter ports. This was my old engine.



You should be able to make it out.

Looking quality mate how hard was it to mod the top mount to fit? is it like modding the cvh one to get a standard zetec to fit? Again it's looking awesome bet it shifts abit as well!!!!

Yeah almost the same, instead of moving 1 hole on the zetec its 2 holes on the st.
yeah it goes well when the vvt kicks in! But wanting more, so bike bodies are on the cards.....

It was broken before it ever got the chance to run. The previous owner got 180 odd BHP though on an engine that had standard manifolds etc, just TB's,Megasquirt and cams really. I would guess the set up I had would have knocked on the door of 190-200BHP.

Well i had a 130bhp zetec in it before and it had way more torque bottom end, unlike the st motor, but when it hits 5k the bhp figure is much better than the zetec. Just depends what ur wanting out of it, mines for track days etc, so most of the time it will be above 5k......

Well little up-date, got sum cheap tb`s off a mate, gsxr1000. So they will be fitted to the st plastic inlet sn and then bk to sitechracing for a re-map!

No, engine is standard.... si has took his to 8500 with no probs, so we set the rev limit at 7800

Spoke to si, and i will be looking into a billet gear oil pump, and hopefully will be going up on monday to fit the gsxr bodies. Hopefully give me more midrange torque and bhp, and si spoke bout setting the vvt to come in at 4.5k. So will see how it goes.....

Been up at si`s today and fitted the gsxr throttle bodies and did a little mapping to get it running, he will finish it tomorrow and al be able to pick it up sometime this wk....

That must sound pure evil

Drive a 170 as my everyday motor and it's always bugged me low down the revs, but do love the engine.

Whats a rough cost on bodies, ECU and a remap. Prob a length of string question but this has really got me thinking

U`ll pick up bodies on e-bay for Ł100 ish.... And speak to si at sitechracing about what gotech managment u want to run... prob around Ł500 for ecu+loom and then mapping on top. Plus the fitting of the bodies etc.......

Picking it up tomorrow after work, si has set the vvt to kick in at 4k and it has gained more midrange power, so next will be a power run on the rollers to see what its kicking out!!!

Just been and picked it up, took it for a spin before i put it on the trailer and what a difference!!! Pulls good all through the revs and lots more torque low down and more responsive!

im doing the exact conversion to my mk2 escort but using emerald managment. what more is need to the loom as it a VVT than on a traditional zetec! im suing same carbs etc what power are you hoping? and what injectors you running
