a small update, not much happend to the fez , just driving it
i did got the broken koni shock back from koni after 3 months, got it true mot.
for now i'm collecting parts for a 2.0 conversion and a gearbox rebuild with lsd

escort mk4 lsd

i ordert a set of GAZ coilovers , still waiting on them


found myself 2.0 silvertop



rebuild set for my gearbox


and adjustable pully's

a bit more
cylinder head cover of


at first site all looks good, when i removed the cams 1 of the bearingcaps had som blue colloring on it and there where some with marks on them, and where the camshaft meets the bearing there where some marks on them
the cams have been out before because the bearingcaps where marked, but when they refitted them they where possisioned the wrong way, i suspect this is the reason for the faults, and bad oil ofcourse

the bores and tops of the pistons look good imo

i got my GAZ coilovers and fitted them, very happy with them

only need to fit a spacer at the back , the spring is catching the tyre




my alternator broke down, i had it rebuild and its back on now

Got in too the 2.0 again , same story as the head, marks on the bearings and crank



the head has been checked and can be fixed

i got my home made strutbrace powdercoated



and started with the oil temp and pressure gauge's
i made a fiberglas peace and painted it
not the best pic

i had alot of vibration on flat roads, and when i fited the strutbrace the engine hits it on load
so got some vibra-technics fast road gearbox mounts for it

recieved a nice upgrade today
fiesta ST

testfit
they are a direct fit , and my 15" mk5 RS2000 wheels fit ok

st setup



now paint them, new fluid and hoses and get them on

I got the block and head back from machining
the head had a skim, opend and flowed inlets and exhaustports, new valve gides en the valves has been cut again
the block had also a skim and the bores are honed
the crankshaft is polisched

good work, dont forget to swap the crank position sensor casing with a manual casing one before you fit engine in like i did!! had to take the engine out again in mine to do it!! doh

i got some pistonrings
and a set of arp rodbolts

had to buy some new tools
-a torquewrench 6 to 40nm
-feelergauges
-a pistonring compressor

and finaly started the rebuild

new pistonrings after checking the gap clearance

new main bearings

crank in

the crankshaftseal housing

cleaned up

gasket in place

the housing mounted to the block

and the seal in place

ARP conrodbolts vs OEM

newbig end bearings

nr1 and nr4 in



i checked the running clearance on the main and big ends and checked the endfloat, all was well

new o-rings for the injectors,ford head bolds and new pistonjets


new 1.8 fiesta waterpump


4 pistons in


pistonjets



i cleanedthe feulrail


got the injectors in the feulrail , al new seals


i than matched the sandwich plate runners to the ports and gave them a mild pollish


also i mached the inlet manifold to the sandwich plate


thats it so far

cleaned and painted HO inlet manifold




painted the sandwichplate


cleaned and painted the throttlebody ,pollished the inside, pollished the butterfly and knife edged it, also made the inlet edge smoother

i bought a oil pickup-pipe, when i recieved it the wiremesh was out
so i chopped the 2.0 oil pickup-pipe and got that mesh and got it in the 1.8 pipe

my latest update

i have some vernier pulley's , i only had to drill a hole to match the piper cams so i can fit the dowel's

pipercams


drilled the hole in the pully


pully on and locked with the dowel in place

al timed up



a new ford timing belt



i painted the timing covers and moddet the upper cover so you can see the pully's

than started on the inlet manifold

gasket in place



the sandwichplate and injectors in place


the other gasket



and the HO inlet on

and this is how it will look



a few litlle things and its ready

a few weeks ago i relocated the batery to the booth.
before


i removed the batterytray


the battery in the booth now mounted on the batterytray also a fuse holder




and a +12v terminal under the bonnet



and this is how it looked
