MY MERCURY GREY 2WD SAPPHIRE
well i bought it because it is a low mileage, low owner car in totally standard spec.
i have bought it from a guy who bought it when it was a year old in 1989 and has kept it until yesterday when i relieved him of it.
its hardly been used for the last 5 years but its fair to say its had been well used before then.its a bit grubby all over but the potential is there.
the interior is grubby, especially the driver seat and carpet, passenger seat looks like its hardly been sat in,just like the rear, headlining is good too.so hopefully just a good clean and replace the driver seat and get the screw holes sorted from the 1980's alarm and phone system should sort that out.
the exterior has seen some paint and a few small repairs over the years but nothing major and its hpi clear.original front wings are excellent, strut tops are mint, chassis is excellent.it has however had a rear panel fitted at some point and needs a little sorting out behing the bumper-not a problem.also passenger front door has had a smallish repair which needs sorting out.
mechanically the very standard car just needs a good clean up,an oil leak sorting.its even got a standard exhaust.may get all the suspension painted/powder coated........
so from collecting it yesterday it is currently bumperless/lightless/door wing mouldings have been carefully removed to be re-used.
ill get some pics up of the beginning of what will probably be a huge pain in the ass hopefully tomorrow.
hopefully its going to worth doing and keeping totally standard.looking forward to doing this
