Fiesta RS Turbo Kit car
Hi guys, some of you might remember me posting a few months back with this car, well here is an update from a month ago (these arent the latest photo's unfortunately), I have been taking my time to get this done right, and have also revamped the interior, boot and have done some bodywork modifications.
This is the car as i built it the first time round:
First engine, never got it running right, dad probably purposely de-tuned so i wouldnt kill myself, was only 18 at the time tho with no driving experience - tho i thought i had lots!
Almost there, wiring is messy atm, its got to prove to me its working before i tidy it up and stitch it in!
The only differences over std is the turbo is mounted the other way around, and its a T3, the exhaust pipe is 2.5" with a straight through silencer, the inlet ducting is much shorter and of slightly larger cross sectional volume, unrestrictive charge cooler and hopefully less restrictive inlet manifold.
I have a flowed head atm but only a standard cam, its only got a mini van fuel tank and about 4 - 5 gallons fills it up and so i wanna retain as much eceonomy from the engine as poss. The head has slightly larger inlet tracts and no protruding valve guides, do you see much difference top end with ported head and std cam? Any1 know of somebody who has a flow bench near Exeter?
I have also converted the engine to EFI as i preferred the look and adjustability of EFI, as i bought it the block is a fiesta turbo unit and the head and everything else was escort MFI, i had to sell and change alot of the parts but foolishly stuck with the MFI head and had to modify the inlet manifold. u live n learn i guess!
