A small update while waiting for the Ahmed springs to be delivered...

Finished the waxoyling on the front arches to match the rears

Cleaned up and painted front crossmember

Bought quite a few new bits for rebuilding suspension... Standard top mounts

Rear Spring Seats

New strut top cups, bump stops and bearings

Powerflex rear ARB bushes

Koni's

Some sexy carbon fibre strut tops courtesy of Barry @ http://www.carbontecshop.com

Got an OMP strut brace off Ebay, re-painted it and fitted it using proper bolts

Wanted to change fuel cap for a late cable-release item to utilise cable and lever i have for the boot release. It was magenta so had to re-paint it too. Before:

After:

Fitted smoked rear lights and number plate surround (note painted towing eye!)

That's all folks... happy xmas!

An update of some more parts i've managed to get hold of over the last couple of weeks...

Got some good front and rear bumpers from Ben (cosjapeater PF username). Front bumper came complete with fogs/surrounds and laguna splitter with no sagging but needs the side brakets redoing as usual!

Front

Rear

Ben also had a mint 4x4 bonnet and as I needed another one after the Citylink abuse I thought it'd be rude not to have that too!!!

So if anyone's interested in a white 4x4 bonnet to repair with mint vents and good underlay let me know...

Someone nearby is breaking his Sapphire so I had a few bits off that too:

Good usable standard diff... I'll probably just give it a good clean up rather than rebuild it, but i'll look into it all the same.

Complete top-end in need of rebuilding... Still running different ideas around my head at the mo on the engine spec so i'll just start stripping it down.

T5 gearbox in need of rebuilding (you can see a pattern emerging here can't you?! ) This is something i've got to decide on; whether to get it done or have a bash myself... it seems quite straightforward really! Maybe someone can give me a few pointers if they've done it?

And finally... steering wheel and indicator stalks!

Got the petrol tank to come yet but that's all for now...

Small update... cleaned up and painted the fuel pump/filter cradle, tank strap and diff...

Fitted the 'good' bonnet to get it out of harms way... will be coming off again to fit engine anyway!

Got hold of a complete 2wd engine... head's in need of work but the block's still on a standard bore. So i've got a nice collection to play with now!

Although on a standard bore I think the block's been stored upside down and will need refacing/machining!!!

The head was damaged and an attempt to repair it has been made but its still missing 3 valve seats... not sure its worth bothering with especially as its an early 3dr head (I have the other head after all!)

With the engine I also got a box full of useful goodies like brand new exhaust cam, AP fast road clutch, gasket set etc etc
