(COLEYST200)-My 3DR Rebuild
Hi, ive recently purchased a geuine 3dr motorsport shell and i intend to take it from the condition its in now back to how it should be.
The car itself does not hold any history as it hasn't been registered yet, so if anybody who used to own it/ has pics/ history etc id be garateful!!
Anyway, heres how it came to me.....................
People who are involved...
Me Coleyst200 - ian - owner
Jumbo - scott- write up & pics (POSTING ON BEHALF OF COLEY)
Rex - ian - right hand man
Obviously as the project goes on i'll post more pics etc..........thanks for looking!!!!!

Hi mate, yes it is a 909 shell (very rare apparently) and it was delivered to the front door for Ł2500! The shell is fairly mint, needs some work as holes have been drilled etc for the cage, so they need patching up..........apart from that it needs a good sanding down !!!!

Pics sorted now hopefully................
Had a good look round the car today, needs rear glass due to it having perspex windows/ roll cage mounts removing etc pictures will do the talking............
Heres dash....lol
The engine bay.....
The inside...........
Will start getting into gear later on, need to give the car a good steam clean and need to know how the engine runs before it gets removed (apparently hasn't been turned over for at least 18 months)!!!
More updates soon................

Ok, managed to get the engine fired up after 10 minutes of being sat for 18 months!!! Engine was running with grey injectors so you can imagine the smoke and taste of fuel!!!!
Replaced the grey's with blues just to see how it ran without damaging the neighbours lungs before getting stuck in ripping the engine out.......
after the clean..
Didn't come up 2 bad considering........
Then it was the fun bit, out came the lift.........
Me on the left, chris in the orange and black and Rex in the blue....out she pops.......
A happy chappy...........
Had a quick brew and reflected on what was happening next, time for a little tidy up in the garage me thinks
So, cage is out, engine is out. Next on the 'to do' list is the loom. Chis in the pic has sourced a full trim including roof lining for a bargain price and 3 boxes of bits including switches, rubber bungs etc..Top Job Chris
More will be added shortly............

Moving on, had a mad couple of hours on her with the help of rex.....
Most of the engine bay is stripped now and it don't look too bad....
We removed the gearbox which looks a bit sorry for itself at the momment.....
.............but wont be log before its all new again
Had a shock to find actually how good the underneath of the car really is. You can still see a dust of primer at the top of the tunnel!!!!!
Apart from the wheel well being removed and re-welded back in and a couple of other minors, im pleased to bits the shell is as good as new.
As far as the project is going at the momment im really chuffed to bits with the car itself and the progress, seems as its genuinly hard to get the time to work on the car. If anyone wants to share input throughout the rebuild, please feel free.....
Thats it for a day or two due to work etc.....just can't seem to keep away from that garage

A quick update.....................
As promised a pic of the dash just placed in to get the general idea.....
As you can see its not the original dash i wanted but it is mint and will do the job. Bargain at Ł15.00!!!!!!!!!!
Ive brought a genuine RS ecu cover to go over the slot in the dash aswell.
More work and pics to follow over the weekend as the rear axel is coming off, the front cross member and the roll cage points will be removed with a bit of luck!!

Little progress.................
The car has basically had all the running gear, fuel tank etc fom underneath removed now.
Cannot believe how clean it is under here!!!
Heres another angle of under the arch, it really is a bang on shell..
Here are some of the bits that will more than likely be powdercoated or refurbed then painted..
Doing a bit more today, the brackets that were welded in place for the cage need to be removed and a few plates need making to cover the holes for the cage, will update you later guys

Have been busy today locating trim mainly and have managed to source the following today, of which were removed from an 'B' reg 3dr.....
- 2 front seats
- 2 spare seats for spares
- rear seats
- front & rear door cards
- sound proof lagging for bulkead
- underlay for the floor
- 2 carpets
- boot lining both sides
- wooden cover for spare wheel
- polystyrene to house the jack
- 1 roof lining
- parcel shelf with holes (new one without holes coming soon)!
- centre console
- clips/ rubbers/ screws and interior trims for the interior
So ive got all the basics apart from a few small items at this momment in time. Total bill for the whole trim including dashboard was a mere Ł265.00, which is apure bargain.....thanks to chris
Pictures will be up later or sometime tommorow, thanks for all the positives, much appreciated

Just thought id add a few pics of the trim i got my hands on, it needs a good going over and a clean but abit of TLC will soon have it blinging.....
One roof lining.........
Assortment of parts lol...
Pillar trims etc
More updates to come in the week with abit of luck. Got a right collection of bits coming together now but i am finding a few parts very hard to source at the momment. Will add my lists in the 'wanted' section when i have a full list of bits i need.

Some bad news im affraid..... Had a motorcross bike at the back of the garage that i used to ride solo until i retired from the sport. Alot of moneys worth of bike but more of a sentimental value if you get me..
Woke up this morning to find what lookslike a bombs gone off.........
Everything you see on the grass was either in the garage or on the garage roof..........
Socket set that was inside the car...........
Bonnets placed neatly against the bush.......
A view of the car from above..........
What was a good windscreen is now scrap..........
So im pissed off, not only have i lost a bike, ive got the hassle of sorting a new roof etc now. Thought id share it witith you as it means the car project will be put back a week or two now.......
This is the only up to date pic ive got of the bike as you can see in the background. which ever scumbags nicked it lifted the bike through the roof and off they went. No one seen or heard anything......amazing!!!!
Will keep updates coming in due course, not gonna let whoever done this put me back on my project for too long...
