MSE Belcar Mondeo GT Car re-build .....
Thought i'd share some pics of what im up to at the moment , my sierra has taken a backseat while this car gets a re-build .I bought it 6 months ago from a Rally crosser in Belgium , he wasn't sure whether to go racing or Rally crossing after he retired from Rallying so he bought a car for each ! the Mondeo was bought from MSE on the pitwall at spa after it threw another turbo ( with the engine stripped it became obvious why it didi this ) , i bought it less engine , loom and ecu but a host of other bits had been taken for another project !
on the ferry coming home with it
as it last ran ..
previous colours ..

Hi Radders, alls good mate ,
Euan , i only have 2 cars , but 2 kids as well means i rearely get to race these days , lol.
This is the engine being test fitted , 742bhp and 666ft lb on race fuel .
I was always going to change the turbo anyway , a JGE 60 Turbonetics /Garrett hybrid was fitted and dynoed
Made what i wanted , good boost from low down as well .

Still is silver , i remember watching it in Belcar and thought "i gotta get me one of them , lol "
I bought the Quaife viper box that it ran in 2004 , heap of shit thing ! It now has a Drenth MPG sequential , bit more like it i reckon .
they broke up a wolf racing Eggenburger RS 500 for the rolling gear, its been quite heavily modded since then tho , one piece Dymag rims , 10.5 and 11.5" wide and much smaller centrelock spindles to reduce rotating mass, huge Brembo brakes and moton 3 way Dampers too ...

Spent a while deciding where to site the dry sump tank and then running the lines for it ..
Finally settled on about here...
also had a chance to remove the Fuel cell cover and the nasty bits of old steel pipe that feed both sides from the quickfills, i'll get these remade in Alloy i think ...
Gratuitous shot of the monster carbon twin element rear wing ,lol .

That's awesome Tony! Love the look of it!
Did you buy this off www.rallycarsforsale.net by any chance? I'd seen one on there advertised for a number of months, looks amazing!

This cut out allows access to no 4 plug , the motor sits a foot under the bulkhead , ive had a cam sensor let into it as well so in all this rocker cover owes me 2 or 3 hundred quid !

ok , got the motor in today , its tight but its in ! lots to make up so that theres room around everything , the engine actually sits behind the steering rack so you can imagine how far back it is under the bulkhead .
Tight huh !
This is the front of the car , all in one bit ..
