Wheels are 17"s as with a 400bhp Reno 5 you need big brakes lol
fronts are 330mm 4pots, can't go smaller than 17s with them.
And mesh is needed to fill the hole in the bumper lol
if they are the only 2 critisisms of a build like this I think I've done ok lol

Yeah the car is sweet just those two little bits. lol. Shame about the brakes as 15's look perfect on fives. Why is there a hole in your bumper as I cant actually remember what my mates looks like at the botton.

Love that! I had an R5 GTT a few years back, was lethal with just a hybrid turbo on it and around 190bhp, must be new underpants time with double the hp when it comes on boost.
Great quality build by the looks of it too, big respect.

That looks the fucking bollocks mate , two of my favourite cars ever combined! I would put on the gt turbo stripes down the bottom of the door & rear quarter....but looks ace anyway!

That looks really good and just goes to show you can get a powerfull engine into a small car and keep it looking standard(ish) without daft aftermarket bodykits.
My R5 was a bit twitchy but great fun through the tight corners, how does this handle?

i should update with new spec and pics really, will do it soon.
it does go quite well now and even with an open diff it does grip and handle well.
as all the weight is sitting on the rear wheels it just digs in and fucks off. lol
went out in it a couple of days ago and its getting very fun,
had a race with a few bikes, even from 1st and 2nd they cant get away then im off.
i dont think its that fast, but i have taken a few people out who think its very fast.
cant wait to get a real gearbox and diff in it.
and finally sort my boost out so its holding properly.

oh and as for the decals,
im thinking of putting a std Renault 5 badge on the left of the boot, then getting a RS440(whatever power it makes) sticker done in the same style as the RS500 stickers, for the right lol

Yep that was me, I live down the road, my test route is a22, m25, m23 then a23 and home.
Only the rear windows tinted at the mo, but over Xmas I'm gunna do the rear 1/4s to.

theres gunna be some big updates on this soon,
ive sent my gearbox of to be stripped and measured up for some new mods.
going to have a new mainshaft made possibly with straight cut 1st-4th gears and a helical overdrive 5th,
and a new plated diff. should be able to take over 600 lbs/trq
that means i can up the power on the engine woohoo
going to be changing the turbo to either, T38, T4 or GT30, new seimens injectors, possibly new cams and a new map. hopeing to get around 500bhp,
while the engine/box is out im gunna do some more re-wiring, more tidying up, more painting,
then getting new tinted perspex on the rear window and rear 1/4 windows and some black harnesses fixed to the roll cage so you cant see whats inside anymore.
then re corner weighting and a full geometry setup.
gunna be a good year next year.

got bored and had a spare 1/2 hour so spur of the moment i painted the wheels black.
take the wheels off,
get a few bits out of the garage,
rubbed down
mist coated
all painted
and back on the car
much better
then though it would be rude not to take a pic of 3 of my toys on the drive.
think i will put a white pin stripe round the edge of the rim.

Hi i heard about your car from a few mates that went to the middlesex meet and thought i would have a look very well done for making such a nice job of the car would very much like to see it in the flesh i used to own a white R5 which i loved very much

I really really like it, and can´t helt wondering what it is like to drive??!! mid engined turbo madness like this had to be something quite special to actually drive!

You won't believe me but it's really nice to drive. Lots of fun, surprises plenty of people.
Unfortunately a few jobs have fucked me during the reccession so what I planned to do over winter hasn't happened.
The engine is out at the mo for some cleaning, rewiring and painting, then back together for summer.
Hope to bring it to a few shows this year.
