project fakecos :) now with M.O.T :)
the story so far...
well ive bought an old 1.6 sierra for £250
with hopes of building a road legal 3 door,
full cos running gear
ive never built a car before, only stipped a couple,,
so it will be a steep learning curve
it needs welding in a few places, as you'd exspect for that money...
if it no work out, no harm done
ive spotted the obvious bits to change/modify ie
bulkhead holes for brakes and loom
front inner wing holes for abs brake set up
the door catch area
front towing eye ,, have i missed anything here?

more to do
Hi, ive also got the same trpe of project as yourself. One other thing that you may need to do is make larger holes for the cossie engine wireing loom as the previous engine never had this, apart from that its pretty str8 4ward unless you wana go 4x4 then you need to cut away some of the floor for the gearbox.
Good luck

I did this years ago but never put in a cossie engine as was too young
I had this exact colour car but it got written off before I could paint it.
I then put all the bits into a white shell and did a 500 replica with 2.0 pinto, did it all on my mums drive except the spraying which I paid someone to do, it was a very enjoyable project and I would deffo consider doing something similar again
good luck mate

hi folks,
small update time
its turning into the good the bad & the ugly,
the shell has had some more weling done, with lots more to come,
the drivers rear wheel arch has been removed, and some
front wings were removed to reveal more work,
at least when the shell is finnished i'l know its going to be good,
as everything found thats bad, is being patched over and repaired
on the upside ive bought all the wings/panels ect i needed,
modified the bulkhead to take the bigger brake cylinder
and got my saff running, so its all good at the mo

cheers folks.
im sure this will be far better than the genuine one i wrote off,
im not after no trophy winner, just a SOLID usable road car,
very small update,
ive been filling a few patches here and there,
and lining up the wings, well trying .
passanger side fits like a dream the other is out by a country mile,
i would like to thickly underseal the front inner arches before the wings are welded on perminent, and possibly again when fitted, especially the back's of wings ect..
ive also scooped up a well used single pipe stainless exhaust
