Car is back from mapping. It’s a different car on Pectel T2. Feels so nice to drive over my old 2.1 Ze-vh. Zetec is the way to go people…
So happy to have it finally running and setup after starting the 2.0 Zetec conversion two years ago.

Only one problem is my clutch now slips. Lucky all the full boost mapping was done before it let go.
Need to upgrade to 240mm clutch.
Clutch upgrades look to be a bit of a minefield. Focus RS cover fits for some people but others have had problems.

Update time,

Last weekend I fitted my new 240mm flywheel and Foucs RS ZF Sachs High Performance Cluch Kit .
I was using a 220mm flywheel from a EFI CVH and a AP 220mm four paddle.

All ready to be taken apart. lol

Gearbox out

Lots of parts removed.

Old 220mm CVH flywheel

New 240 Zetec flywheel

Old AP four paddle and cover

New Foucs RS ZF Sachs clutch and cover

Finally all bolted to the flywheel.

Cant use the AP kit from the Focus RS as the clutch cover will not fit inside the gearbox bell housing. Good news is the Focus RS ZF Sachs clutch cover fits fine. So anyone with a zetec needing a clutch to fit in an RS 2000 MTX75 gearbox this is the one to use.

After a blast to the surrey rs meet last night i can say this clutch can take the power

I got the clutch from a bloke selling it on the RS owners club.

You can get them from this url.

http://www.sachsperformance.com/EU/s...s/rs/index.htm

You may want to try just getting the Clutch Cover and see if you can use your AP clutch disk. As don't you all ready have the AP setup?

Car is running about 350bhp.

Hi, You want to use the engine mount from the MK5/6 escort that had the Zetec engine and MTX75 gearbox.

Below is the Engine mounts from a Zetec MK5/6 left is with MTX75 gearbox and right is IB5 Gearbox.

I didn't run PAS at the start but I have now converted to PAS.

Yes you can run a front or back starter, Its down to the gearbox you use as that's what it bolt onto. With the blacktop engine you need to cut some of the webbing of the sump to make room for the starter.

Yeah but there's quite a few different MTX boxes

If it's an Escort one (RS/TDI), I'd be interested to see if the lower box bolts line up with the black top sump bolt holes.

Ollie, had a read of this last night. What was the reasoning behind using the metal throttle body instead of the normal black top one?

Standard Focus 1.8/2.0 plastic throttle body (small butterfly)

Modified Mondeo 2.0 alloy throttle body (60mm butterfly fitted over 55mm standard)

Cant see that plastic focus throttle body flowing that well with positive boost so I fitted the Mondeo one.
The Focus RS had an Alloy throttle body just like the 55mm Mondeo but changed so it has that alloy elbow on top.

Also by using the metal throttle body I was able to use the throttle cable bracket from the later escort that had plastic inlet and alloy throttle body. Saving me from getting custom throttle cables, I now just use a standard later MK6 cable

And to add I didn't use my own gasket that you can see my making on page 4.
I used the one from the Focus RS, Is a 10mm thick plastic gaskit/adapter plate.

Fair enough, some sense in that. Where did you get the enlarged throttle butterfly plate from, or was it custom made?

Had planned on using a 130PS inlet on my own engine, but I'm leaning towards a Focus one cos of the end-fed injectors!

Saw these on display at Goodwood some when on a Toyo stand.

Somewhere between T1R and R888? Will be interested to see what they are like!

Look to be a good replacement for my Goodyear Eagle F1's.
Rubber is the same compound as the R888.

Ok, Just got back from picking my bumper up from the body shop. Its now fitted with an RS 500 Splitter .

Was going to wait for the daylight for some better photos but I'm over the moon with how good it looks.

So here are some quick snaps in the dark with my phone.

Yes i know the photos are bad as its dark and yes the bumper is not fitted, its just resting on the bolts.

What do you all think

Been crying out for a splitter mate. Look forward to the daylight pics with it all fitted up properly.

Incidentally, answer my question about the throttle from above

Id go for the plastic type manifold just for ease of running top feed injectors.
I got the throttle from ebay I think. Its only 5mm bigger than the standard Mondeo type so if your thinking of doing this conversion you will be fine with the 55mm std.

Yeah I've come to that conclusion. I did have the 130PS manifold but I've sold it now. Will pick up a Focus one and use that. Got a 2.0 Mondeo TB about so that can be fitted I'm sure.

Still need an engine mind

Got some better photos that I snapped before going to work this morning.

If its not raining this weekend I will finish of some little jobs and get the bumper bolted up and the car back down on all four wheel.

Will be good to see what it looks like when the car is on the ground.

I think it needs something a bit more aggressive myself. Some 17" Comps or something would look good methinks. Just something a bit more angular really!

Don't really want 17"s and i think the ET25 Cosworth wheels just look silly sticking out without the arches. I may change later but i like the standard Ford look.

Let me know if you need any info s23rta, We need more fast MK5/6 Escorts .

Ok gave the car a wash this weekend so here are some better photos of the splitter.

What do you think?
