xr2i or an xr3i seem to be the best at that price

Needa good base to start from so anything light, rear discs are a bonus, engine transplants with as little fuss as possible on a small budget not easy mk1 and mk2 fiestas are either mint 2k+ or beaten up rust buckets (doesnt have to be a fiesta anything with a ford badge) thanks

Hi mate...i would go for:

Mk2 fiesta base model, strip it out complety!

1.8 series 1 zetec engine with 2Ltr cams

single carb off mk2 xr2 on custom manifold (prob most expensive part)

decent manifold and system

S2 turbo Lsd box

Xr2 brakes and suspension

Flying machine!!

My mate got a mk4 escort bonus with that running gear and it flys so would be even better in a fiesta!!

Also zetec will bolt straight into the engine bay using a xr2 mount!!

Mk3.5 si 16v

My brother just picked up a 3dr M plate for 200 quid with Tax and MOT.

Strip of all non needed items (ie interior) which is free and you will get cash back for half of it.

Racing seat - one'll do for now, 100 - 200 quid inc brackets, new.

harness - 50 quid or so

aftermarket suspension - 50-100 quid, or coilovers (£300+) depending on budget.

cosworth front brakes - 200 quid all in. good stoppers (need 15" wheels though)

future mods could include a roll cage - bolt in from £300, engine upgrade - 2.0ltr from a mondy goes straight in with some minor component swaps and ECU change.

big power not necessary if you sort the handling and braking.

HTH helps
