Default Fordie - Ford Capri Turbo MK3 - X-pack widebody

First of all.. Im not so very good at english, so please don't flame me for that.

Well, the car has been in a garage for like 5 years and finally I've taken it home..

I wont be writing to much because of my bad skills in english, but I will write whats important =)

Well. The car is a Ford Capri 2.0S from -78.
It has been modified with the X-pack widebody-kit and is registered for a B230FT volvo turbo engine. I wont be using the B230 tho, I will be using a B23E with the M-rods from -84 converted to a turbo-engine.
Don't know what the law will say about it, but i guess time will tell

And hey, dont blame me for using volvo-turbo in a ford. I want to buy a cossie-engine, but here in sweden:
Cossie engine with gearbox etc etc ~5000 euro
Volvo Turbo engine with gearbox etc etc ~200 euro

You might see a slight difference?

Here is how the car looked back in -98 when my father had it:
www.garaget.org/fordie

And this is today..

The rims.. (just temporary, they doesnt fill out the widebody-kit.. haha)

Hm, whats that?

Oh, its my blue little cutie

On the way home.. finally. Been waiting for this moment for a few years

The day after.. I think someone needs to be washed, or what do you say?

Wax on, wax off.. bad camera tho, so its hard to see the difference.

Lets try some karatekid-action on the volvo too

Bought me intercooler, bypassvalve, turbo etc for only ~70 euro. The turbo and the intercooler was like new, really good price!

Anyone wanna challenge me in "whos got the worlds smallest downpipe"?

Testing testing.. What do you say? Should I paint it all white?

Nothing could be better as an ashtray then a old Volvo 240 GLT

B23E whos gonna get raped by a turbo

Kinda high without the engine

Got some work to do before I get the same old capri back..
And i REALLY REALLY need to get some wider wheels.. Had 235mm before and they didnt fill out the bodykit so this 195mm wheels isnt much better

Brum brum

Testing testing, the intercooler fits great, but i will have to cut alittle in the body to get it to fitt a littlebit better

Well, thats all for today.. Now im just waiting for money to keep on building it, but I hope to get my first test run before the end of the month.

Once again, sorry for my bad english

Peace

Good work, like the Volvo idea, good strong engines, can get BIG power out of them in turbo form

Could always use the a B234 16V head then your REALLY close to a Cossie engine

Yup, and they are very cheap too (without work I don't have too much money to spend).

Yeah, I really feel peckish for a B234, but then there's the money..
Alltho, to the summer I will buy a new engine to build on while driving around with the B23. It will probably me a B230 or a B234, the only problem with the B234 is that I'll have to register it again wich will be pretty expensive.

The B23 with some specials will be visually street-legal and with some luck I will pass the (dont know the word in english..?) inspection of the car (is that right?) and the cops in sweden are to stupid to see my "specials"

However, the plans for today is to go get a new gearbox since I made a mistake. Bought a gearbox that didnt fit and scraped my volvo.. 1h after the volvo was gone I was told that I should've saved the gearbox from the volvo 240 since that was a correct one..
And if I wont get to tired (been awake all night) I will assemble the gearbox to the car.
I also need to find new holdings for the engine because the old one is missing.
