Default ** Track Prepared Mallard Green Escos **

Hello Everyone

Ok on the 23rd of December 2006 i got my first Escort Cosworth

It is a 1994 L reg Mallard Green, Large Turbo T34 model with full raven Black Leather

Pic is of the first day i got it

Ok Now the bad bits I paid £9000.00 for the car and where i was so excited about getting one it was from a friend of a friend who said it was mint blah blah blah so i took my mates word who took his mate word who said it was sweet when i went ot buy it, it was Dark and after a go round the block i was hooked and within 2 minits of that i was on the way home

once i got it home and hada good look i realised the Hocky stick that was broke was slightly more than it first seemed and needed a new one aswell as a new washer bottle as at the time of impact when the hockstik got broke it did this aswell

This was all i see the night i brought it

anyway after close inspection i see that the Stone deflector on the front bumper was split and scraped quite bad aswell and needed replacing! not to mention it had a bad oil leek that pisst all over my new drive "dont know how i never see that when i brought the car" and inside there was also a few dodgy bits going on i see straight past when buying it

Steering wheels is ok but standard is better, as is the bost gauge holder on the steering casing that is now standard, the gearknob is momo, looks shite and is a total cunt to get off, the hand break has a chrome cover on it i can only discribe as being the size of a can of redbull

The oil leek only turned out to be the seals otherwise i was told it was an engine out job for the sump gasket seals among other things to be done, whitch would have been a total nightmare and cost a fortune aswell why i was there i had a new cam belt, oil filter, oil, fuel filter ect all done fir good measure

Ok so not to many probs thought i would just sort a few things out and get it looking sweet new set of wheels ect, the power was pretty good i was happy with it felt a bit laggy but hey its a 13 year old car!

My mate has a go Slates it says its a pile of shite and Buys and M3 E46 2002 and said it will and would eat my motor any time place or day wanker! this is my best pal BTW and the guy who said it was his friends who said my car was mint GAME ON!

Not his car but just to give you an idea case you didnt know what one is

Nice Car!

I now had the duty to not be muged off and get my car to be capable of obliterating his M3 round a track and on the road! now for a start i know my car is 4WD and his is RWD so i got a head start there and he will not tune hie motor at all he belives no matter what i do to my escort his in standard form will wipe the floor with mine please bear in mind he has had a go in my car when i first brought it at best being a stage tired stage 3 that was probebly carried out 7 years +ago whitch consisted of

Dark Green injectors, 3Bar Mapsensor, K&N induction, Stainless steel Exhaust, Breather system and from the Receipts that i got an uprated Fuel pump! from what i have been told all work was carried out buy Grove garage/Ahmed Bajoo? not to sure if anyone reading this knows any diffrent please let me know as im allways intrested to know about the history of my car

BTW remember when it was snowing a few weeks back? he ditch the M3 new front bumber, wing, headlight bonnet wishbone shouldnt laugh but its nearly repaired now anyway

So getting back to the Task at hand the stage 3 was never gonna cut it so i set about specking up a faster version of my current spec!

First thing i brought was a set of Grey injectors from Kevin Sharp on here

The turbo that was on the car sounded & went really good but i knew it wasnt up to the job at hand so it was swapped for a Grp A, T34 + .63 REAR HOUSING, 247 MARAM ANTI LAG SHAFT (stamped with 247), 360 BEARING, STRENGHTENED WASTEGATE ARM, QUICK RELEASE EXHAUST HOUSING, POLISHED/MACHINED OUT RESTRICTOR FOR FULL FLOW AND NEW BEARINGS & SEALS ETC 550 MILES AGO BY FIELD MOTORSPORT

as i was changing the Turbo i remember from an article in a mag that 2WD exhaust manifolds flow better than 4X4 so i brought a new one from GGR on ebay

whitch i then realised i needed the Trowsers/elobow bit that goes inbetween the Turbo and Exhaust manifold luckly Ryan who makes the sick Cossie looms came to the rescue with one

Ok so now i knew what i needed to do with only being out in the car a handfull of time i took it to my lockup/yard and started stripping the engine down thought i could remember where everything went, that was a good few weeks ago now

Why i was there i also took the front bumper off to sort out the stone defloctr issue aswell as the cam cover, oil seperator, strutbrace and trumpet for the K&N

i sent sent the cam cover, oil seperator, strutbrace and trumpet for the K&N off to Mike rainbird to powdercoat in Candy apple Green wich mike done Blue sorry mike couldnt let you get away scott free after you having a Dig about the colour of the bits i sent

why i was there i also brought a defi 60mm Boost gauge on a piller pod a banana pod to hold 3 defi gauges, center consol that is being modded like francos but to hold 3 52mm not 60mm defi gauges

A Short shift and monte gearknob to get rid of that shite Momo one thats still on the car that i still cant get rid of

Head gasket and Head bolts
K&N Filter to fit my trumpet as mine is all old oily and bent up
Bracket for the Actuator on my turbo as the one that i got from M_K was moved to fit his XR2 so it wouldnt hit the rad/intercooler
ACT Gauge in Green to keep an eye on temps
Water injection full kit to keep things cooler

Also orderd a set of the Diamond headlights you get for the moretts i think they look the bolocks

Coming along nicely mate!

Don't worry about not seeing things when you went to see it - it's called Cossie Blindness and has caught many people out.

Keep the Morrettes and smoked indicators on though they look sweet

Nice little thread mate!

That is one cheap Escort Cosworth for 9k mate! At that price it's going to have problems, remember you only get what you pay for...

As for your so called mate, i'd smack the cunt for telling you a load of bullshit about the car and i'd put the cunt in fucking hospital for then slagging the car off, think you've been done here fella, don't sound like any kind of friend at all!

Finally, WTF were you doing buying the car in the dark!

Best of luck with it mate, sure your gonna be fine, keep the wheels too, the dish on them looks

Spose i should have expected a bit of abuse about buying the car in the dark LMAO!!

Le me tell you a bit more! the guy who owned the car befor me i know to buy and sell cars all the time and to be an ok fella! bbut not a personal friend

I was out with my pall when the guy called him and said he had just brought a cossie, i asked a few questions and said if ever he was selling it and it was give away money to let me know

3 months later and he board with it and said it all fine runs like a dream whitch it does/DID nothin wrong with it other than the hocky stick being broke where his other mate hit a kerb or whatever!

now for a normal person my car in the state its in for its year is mint most of the peoples cars on here are imaculate and more like brand new rather than mint Mint on PF is a bold statement and paraps i should have worded what i said a little diffrent

the buying it in the dark again was stupid but as i knew what i was going to look at and tok his word for what the car costs and what the guy sold it to me for and the year he sees no wrong other than the oil leek what ive had an appoligy for

not making excuses like you said you get what you pay for saying that other than the few minor inperfections the car is mint! well in my eyes anyay

Right back to the Thread

You live and learn mate don't worry!

Shitty little bits like splitters and interior parts can easily be rectified!

You've done one thing right and that's not pay over the odds for it, for 9k you've got 6k+ to spend before it's in the league's with proper modded Escort's IMO so imagine what it will be like then!

As said, best of luck with it!

right getting back to the engine

Having a Grp A T34 with a Maram shaft thought i may aswell put it to use sent the ISCV to be modified Again Mikes sorting that out

Got myself a Anti lag throttle body, not sure what that sensors for anyone?

Also to take care of the cooling side of thing is spent a few quid with Dan@rapid-ford just waiting on my 500 cooler and turbo prerad

As you can see from the pics i went for apple Green Samcos to they are all thats holding me back as they had to be made where there isnt a great calling for apple green never mind at least know there wont be many about like mine got a 19 row oil cooler to help keep things cool if it was one thing i lernt from my Escort turbo its that Turbo Cars Get Hot and HOT means Melting, MELTING = Not Good

I dont like them that much 17's aswell, tyres are pretty shot to bits so it will probebly get a new set of treds before it goes back on the road!

I was intrested in Speedline chronos 18 or 19inch but they was £2000 a set with 3 set minimum order lol

Probebly the new compo Mo6's or i quite like the look of the CTX wheels, bit limited to what you can have due to the ET being 15

thanks for dropping in tell Ravi his old cars getting a revamp

looks cool, that car Was mint for the money, mine was similar money but a fair few more things wrong with it ,small stuff though, easily fixed, the car is fundementally perfect, but then two of us spent an hour inspecting it inside out- in the light
i wouldnt give your 'mate' the time of day, sounds like jealous bolox talk, i get it too, "that must drink petrol " is the big spoiler for pushing it" ect. grumpy fuckers cant stand seeing a twenty year old with a better car than they've ever had or will
