Topspeed Attempt Rebuild (Pictures added 23/03/07)
Back in Febuary 2006 the last attempt ended in failure so I will keep a log of the re-build here.
The failure was a cracked Block caused by vibration & lots of horses.
A new 200 Block was purchased & after consultation, the Block was machined & assembled to Marks Spec, it was not cheap is all I will say. Its Nikasil lined but not the Mountune designed items. The Block has been built for max strength .
The existing crank was sent back & checked & came back as within new Spec. The Rods & other bits were then sent away for special balancing.
The new Pistons ordered have now been changed again as Mark changed the engine Spec yet again . When all bits were finished they were assembled into the Block & all this happened prior to September 2006.
Mark moved to new premises around this time & i came to a deal with Mark to allow him to get settled in & get stuck into a large backlog of work.
Well I can now report my build will continue in about a fortnight .
Will report back soon on the parts that have been changed since the last engine.

Big Will...why wont they? rods will fall behind on 1/4 but will be one of the quickest top speeds if no thee quickest...
I wouldnt be suprised to see it in top 20 on handling with Mark behind the wheel.
reckon it will be a top 5-10 overall car.

Update 1
The Autronics ECU is being upgraded to SM4 & will use the latest CDI & existing 4 coils. A much modified loom has been built & will include wiring for Traction & Launch Control & Full throttle gear shift. This will include the fitting of sensors to the front/rear wheels & im also upgrading the rear brakes Bells & Discs to make fitting the sensors easier.

Rod wasnt slating your car. I find it awesome and you have done well keeping trying again and again to push the boundaries. But, lets be fair, a laggy 2wd saff is not gonna be quicker round the totb track then all the evos and subarus down there. Your car is not set up for it in any way. I;m looking forward to seeing it take the top speed crown though.
DAN... Mind your own you wanker.
Euan... I agree with you, a well set up saff will do not too badly but there is a lot of cars that excel in that particular field and Rods isnt designed to. You know i didnt mean it in the way Rod and his bumlicker took it but i stand by my comment.
