Default my mk2 fiesta 2.1 zetec turbo:UPDATE NEW PICS

hi ive been looking on here for a while now and ive got to say there are a lot of lovley cars on here but havent started my owne thread yet so here is my car,
its a 1988 mk2 fiesta festivel and i have owned it for over a year now and since i have had it its had a complete rebuild
the car is running a stage 2 cvh engine and turbo on mfi managment but all thats coming out either tommrrow(if the rain stops)or nextweekend to make way for the new engine, the new engine some of you might know as rstchris had it in his white mk3 fiesta that he crashed then shorty bought it and now i have it thanks shorty for the engine but for those that dont know it the engine its a

Black top Zetec (Series 3) 2.1 Ltr
Accrilite Forged Low Comp Pistons with Valve Cutouts
Eagle Steel H-Section Rods
ARP bolts throughout the engine!!
Lightened and Balanced Crank
Ported and flowed head
Area 6 Spec Cams
Solid Lifters
WRC Spray Jets

and ime going to be running it on megasquirt managment with a set of green cossie injectors and a stage 2t3 turbo and ime hoping to get it set up for about 250-300bhp depending on how much my turbo and gear box can take

here are a couple of pics of the car as it is now and before any one replys about the state the bonnet is in it will be comming of when the weather warms up for a cool lovered bonnet

the full spec of the car minus the engine is
cossie front brakes drilled and groved discs goodrich hoses
full polly bush kit
recaro intera with mk3 centre consle with oil pressure gague and boost gague in
forge front mounted intercooler
series 2 wheels
strut brace front and rear
spax shocks with -50mm springs at the front and -30 at the rear
adjustbul panhard rod
every other part is xr2
full respray in street silver
and thats all i can think of but there is probley more lol

thanks every one
rob

Fun cars these

What intercooler is that btw?

And from my experience and what i was told when i was building mine, your regret not going for a bigger turbo, T34 on mine is good match A T3 will run out of puff sooooo quick. Just my 2 cents

up date for today, today went quite well but there is always one thing that hapens and it really anoyes you because nothing can be done about it with out spending more money ,so today i managed to fit the engine in and started to get it all pluged and plumed in it took ages to get the engine where i wanted it to be so it lined up with the box but we got there in the end and when i was looking at puting it in i thought the strut brace wouldnt fit so i got all the suspension off and removed it only to find when the engine ws in place the strut brace fitted still and the anoying thing that happened was the inlet is to high so the bonnet dosent close and i dented it aswell but i was going to get a new one any way

here are some pics of the work today

and the dented bonnet(i used a hammer to mod it a little to get it to close)

lucky i moved the rad even more foward because there is no room atall between the rad and turbo now

i also got my injectors and megasquirt today(thanks chris)so tommrrow ime going to make a start on wiring it in

thanks for looking

rob

My turbo had similar problems but pushed the rad even futher forward. Just got my car mapped to 13psi at MSD. Fooking fun cars

What you doing for a gearbox? Quaife diff is so worth going for by the way!

Be good to see it running mate

this weekends update, couldnt get ti running today because i still havent got any seals for my injectors but i managed to sort out my bonnet and make the bulge a little nicer to look at and i also finished plumbing all the water and boost pipes in
i also fitted my exhaust up and ahd to mod it a little with a very big hammer so it would clear the crosmember(the turbo is 1inch foward than what it use to be)but now it dosent join up with the rear box so i need a bit of pipe inbetween the two the only thing i need to do to finish it off is to sort out the breathing system and to get a air filter and to do the clutch peddel mod

here are some pics of the bonnet just need to get it to work and painted propely

and one of the engine looking nice again

its really nice to see it so close to being done compared to how it was a couple of weeks ago

thanks for looking

Thats looking pretty good Rob shame about what happened with the bonnet though.

You going to fit a bonnet raiser to give you a bit of clearance then?

i was going to seam weld it but i couldnt be bothered to and because i have no way of getting it to work to have it done
ime using a rad form a motorfactors, i had the same one im my old car and it makes a lot of diffrence to the other rads i have tryed
the front breather i havent done any thing with it yeet but i was either going to run it round to the side of the engine and let it breath that way or conect all 3 up and put it in to a breather pot but i havent decided yet

ime trying to find a new bonnet at the moment but ime finding it hard to get one but when i do ime going to be rising the rear of it up so it clears and run it like that

she is running but there seems to be a bit of black smoke coming out of the exhaust ,could it be that it is overfueling(cossie greens on ofab)and how can i adjust the fueling so it dosent over fuel

i also had to strip the sump of becasue it was leaking and re seailed it using proper ford sump sealer

i also had to strip my rear brakes down becasue of a puddle of brake fluid under the wheel and found one really bad black hairy mess but i had a set of new shoes and clynders already but i also found my drums are fecked so now its going to be even longer till i can drive it(or at least till monday when i get the new drums)

all i have to do now for it to be ready for fitp is to:
get engine set up and sort out smoking problem
finish tidying loom
refit dash
fit new shoes and clynders and drums
repaint bonnet
smooth rear arches and paint

thanks for looking
