Hi folks i'm back again this time with my Rs 2000, I owned this car 2 years ago but sold it to my uncle and now he's bought a new car i bought this one back,

So just thought i'd do a little thread for all to see as i slowly start to change it and tidy it up to my kind of standards,

Mods are lowered 40mm on apex springs, k + n cone filter, superchips chip, fse boost valve cat back mongoose exhaust system with de cat (to be fitted)

So here's some pics of before and after slight change even though i've only owned it for a day lol

Looks fuckin mint that does mate very clean its about time u got one of these bad boys engine bay looks them wheels look very nice what u have on tsw's will look spunkin tho mate i had 16" ones on my red rs2k a few years back n they suited it well

What mods u thinking of doing to it?

I have to agree with 1stEscort tho loose them back lights no offence but they look abit cheep. go for some half tinted ones or some like mine

I'm happy with the mods already to be honest just want it to be tidy mate although when cash allows i want a modified tb inlet and exhaust manifold,

What is it with people and my clear back lights they're nice honest

Clear indicators yes, rears sometimes, but not on her she dont suit them The Red/Black rears would suit her better, for example;

Hello again folks mini update I gave the car a t cut and polish and she looked great untill i took her out in the snow Also I got my new clear front indicators in the post this week so now all the snow has gone i fitted them and took some pics,

Also managed to strip out the boot carpets and back seats ready for minting the inside up so here's the pics for ya to be getting on with,

Dan i'm having a laguna one too when i can find one but i'm kinda sorting other bits and bobs at the min i'll try and get one soon though there only a tenner from local scrappy and theres loads of em,

Well another mini update but i forgot to take a pic of it finished,

At some point another owner had cut the rear splitter out for what looks like a 50 inch rage / jap style back box

So as i travelled all the way to northampton to buy a bumper (just for the splitter) for my old white xr3i project i thought i'd get round to putting it on as i had an hour to spare today and this one was un cut,

Pics below and i'll get the finished pic up tomorrow if i remember

As for the clutch mine felt ready 2 years ago as it was biting literally right at the top of the peddle but the fuckers still goin strong and not slipping so i'll leave it while its working ok lol,

Also i have a problem thats REALLY REALLY FUCKIN BUGGIN ME i have a mongoose cat back stainless exhaust on that kwik fit fitted for my uncle 3 months ago (was brand new then) and the tail pipe comes out pissed up,

Now i've had a look underneath and can't see anythin wrong as to why it's not straight SO...... Have any other RS 2OOO owners on here got any ideas cos its pissin me right off

i had a mongoose system on my old rs2k n that didnt come out pissed on mine i have a magnex n that doesnt come out pissed so im reckenin the kwick fit boys fitted it wrong so get on ya back slide under ur car take it all off from the front pipe back and re fit it puttin exhaust paste on every connection making sure the pipes are pushed in well and the flanges bolted up tight then slide back out from under ur car make sure it doesnt stick out to far and not on the piss then clamp the fooker up. (thats what i would do anyways)

My clutch has a hot spot on it so it judders like fuck in 1st when pullin off from cold

P.S. i will update my thread as soon as i can get my lasy arse into gear mate Its to fookin cold atm

UPDATE,

I haven't touched the exhaust yet but today i carried on stripping the bitumen sound deadener stuff and also had a nasty surprise

Nasty surprise,

I poked a hole in the boot floor to back panel which unfortunately came out underneath right at the side of the offside rear chassis leg



Also found surface rust along the back panel join beneath the seam sealer,





Next removal of sound deadener from boot area,







Last but not least the drivers side rear floor pan

(with free surface rust)

I've noticed a lot of MK5s starting to rot inside the boot where it joins the back panel, seems to be getting a bit of a hotspot.

All the best with sorting it though mate, I love em in blue

Usually dan i'd have them off by now but the car's had bits of paint here and there and they've painted up to the door mouldings

So when most of the resto is done and the car goes for paint it will come home without the mouldings

I would pop over mate but my clutch is nearly dead its got a hot spot on the cluch plate so when i try to pull off it vibrates vigeriously so carnt realy drive it anywhere till its done Just waiting for my paycheck next wendnesday so i can get my clutch also getting my st170 disks n calapers next weekend from my mate also going order my braded hoses at work today (cus i can get them cheep) so shuld be ok in a couple of weeks n i will pop over

Its a very rare sight having 2 rs parked next to each other aint it lol thats prob why i like them so much cus they are pritty rare and very under estimated tools.
