Thanks guys - Ron pm me your email for drawing mate.

Lost a few gaskets in the mix so slowed down final engine assembly for a bit

Thought I would show you and good plating solution I have found. I hope you all know you should not plate hubs, axles etc because of embrittlement possibly caused by the process (hydrogen and nitrogen trapped). Found a low temperature phosphate plating that is AOK.

Looks cool too like the grey cast iron. And pretty easy to mask certain areas (with race tape - 1002 uses!)

Also you can see the mods for the centrelock conversion - turned smaller id and od.

Set the turbo up with the ceramic coated housing and manifold. Cannot believe how close it all fits.
Those cosworth engineers must have breathed a sigh of relief when it all just missed.

Had to grind the lug on the head to fit the compressor housing - I assume this is standard practice??

Got the gaskets and sensors so it is full steam ahead - athough had to order some silicone hose I needed. And fucked up a few Speedflow/aeroquip fittings.... damn that shit is addictive..... and expensive

Mounted the harmonic balancer and crank trigger wheel - thanks to Paul and Danny.

Also made sure the injector dynamics injetors fitted. Got to mod the loom.

Meant to weigh it but forgot... the trigger wheel mount is made from steel - is lighter but not half weight from standard - close but a little lighter.

I have been thinking of getting a balancer for my single seater as the YB is going to be solid mounted so anything to reduce vibration would be good

Let us know how you get on with it

No yb ones left and the company (romac) want a min order of 100 units. However looking at sleeving the pinto one to suit. Will keep you posted but see if you guys can find a romac pinto one.

A spacer needs to me made for the water pump pulley and alternator (you can only run one belt) no power steering but I could figure something out for that. 3mm need to be taken off the crank trigger bracket. And the trigger wheel needs to be made.

Lighter than standard pulley but not heaps.

Motor is finished - just cannot find my dump valve - dyno booked, 10 litres of Joe Gibbs break in oil (very high in Zinc and Moly), 10 litres of joe Gibbs Xp1 oil, 5 mann filters, 6 changes of NGK spark plugs and 200 litres of e85 ordered!!!!!

WOOOOHOOOOO!

Once again I apologise for the image quality - at the dyno I will take many better quality images.

I love this solution from dry sump to engine. Fits so well I used a remote take for an oil cooloer to get the oil in (blanking one side) and a stubby regular filter just fits. It all clears the plenum just too!!!!

More aeroquip..

And the alternator mount - standard mount just turn the alternator upside down - really far from manifold!!!!!! Wish I'd bought an opposite handed alternator as the adjuster (with will come off the dry sump pan) would have been a lot shorter.

I am loving the way the rear end is sitting at the moment - just stringlined it all up.

And this took balls - hole in the carbon bonnet

Gonna bug you all with poor quality photos again. Soz!

Took apart and clean/painted the fron lights and refitted them. Also worked out how I was going to make the fron bumper quick release. Got some good ideas so will show later (gonna work on the car tonight).

Also mounted the rear bladed adjustable arb and drop links are going to mount to extended bolts on the rear shock mounts. Making them today.

Some better pics of the engine. Having trouble with the can bus but sorted now. This is alluminium box housing all the electrics that fits behind the dash so you will not see all of this. The ECU (pectel) is behind the left panel. The SDL (dash) and gear cut box is going in the far right box.

Also the power steering pump mounted to the back of the dry sump pump. All just fits!

Alternator mount.

The throttle body bits made is stainless.

Some better pics of the engine.

Hi Lincoln ,

just a few points /suggestions for you .

Please dont mount the rear ARB links to the end of the damper bolts or off the same extensions, these are already a very weak and over stressed area , weld a clevis on to the arm in-board ( i can send over some pics by e-mail tomorrow for you ) this will give it half a chance of working without busting something . Were my Chassis brackets ok for mounting the ARB , they are modelled on the originals so should be ok

the dry sump pump pipework will drive you mad, take the oil filter modine off the block and mount it on the inner wing ,this will make filter changes easier and you can run the oil cooler off the pipework without cluttering up the retun route .

The Alternator upsude down looks like a good idea, you sure the adjuster bracket doesn't need a dog- leg in it to avoid the pulley ?
Good car tho mate ,keep it up .

Thanks Tony - Pics please mate lincolno@andeng.com.au

The brackets fitted perfectly - wait till you see how perfectly with the custom fuel tank I have made.

Running an oil cooler with thermostat bypass in the return line.

The alt bracket misses by a bit - hard to tell from those pics.

No, when I first started helping the old boy out at work he asked me to do engine on the dyne, being one for everything neat and tidy I bolted the map sensor to the inlet and he said no way can it be like that even for dyne as the vibration would soon kill it, so we just let them hang for dyn or sit up on the shelf and in car std position !

Ta mate. Going to be interesting on the Dyno - got your old mans cams/solid lifters and base map in it - so make sure you thank him for it.

E85 fuel and CDI ignition FTW though!

Sorted the bumper quick release - have not finished pumping the guards so have not levelled it at the edges.

However I am undecided about the amber indicators or white - thinking the white/black theme might be done to death I am thinking the ambers ones for some contrast - I have white and amber side repeaters aswell.

And some more carbon bits.

And an offset shot.

Linc, coming together mate... looking great. I did a strengthening mod on my trailing arms to combat the stress problem indicated too.
My approach was a little different to TCS, I strengthened the mount so that it had more strength in shock mount and mount to main trailing arm section especially in the transfer of load from axle to shock. I think I have a pic up here somewhere will post ASAP.

Here it is

I do plan to connect my adjustalbe bar to this directly but I cannot get the exact mount decision made till car is together. I have not ruled out a seperate mount as was presented but can see that connecting direct to the shock mount is ok given the bracing I have in place. As you know I am old MX / SX guy... so I know that mounting together is good if you can support it.
