right, finally got someone to sort the mods out on the shell.

the bloke used to work for Gartrac so its going to get the full gartrac treatment.

decided to get the shell made into a full spec grp.4 shell ,might aswell go all the way with it now.

i am going to get the age all modded so it mates up to the rear turrets and get the front footwell bit of the cage triangulated so it incorparates into the innerwing so it give more strength to it.

i went to Demon Tweeks and RACE today and spent a bit more money on more parts.

this is the rest of the Watts linkage to keep the axle in place, now it will be 6 linked.

a strengthening brace for the rear axle.

world cup cross member, engine mounts and a quick rack,2.2 turns lock to lock.

Bias pedal box and bits.

rear adjustable Bilstein coilovers.

Full Safety Devices roll cage with shaped door bars.

Sparco Pro2000 seats with sparco adjustable fitting kit

i think its getting there now.

Dave- I'm sure it will be up to the job, I'm still totally unsure what to go for in that department, very tempted by the one RACE quoted me on but due to other commitments I dont have that sort of money available at the mo

Not sure if that's sound advice or not!

Grp 4 shell on Ebay but it's 4 door, and another Rally shell for 2k!

Need to spend my money on the Saph at the moment, maybe i'll wait till yours is finished then offer you some Cash!

JonnyBravo

i seen what there axles are like yesterday and if i wern't having Steves on then one would be on my shopping list, they are and look the biz.

Paul,

the side exhast would be too noisy for the trackdas i think, the mongoose on the escort cos is on the limit sometimes.

B9KOS

i did pay over the odds for the seats there but at least the misses dosen't know, the pot is getting a bit smaller Richie

Dan

that shell is cheap for Ł2k, by the time to buy all the bits, get them fitted you are looking at well more than that.

i was considering buying Paul from north yorks grp.4 shell, may have been cheaper in the long run.

oh well, just got in from work and i'm going to do a bit of work on it.

Steves as in Dingys ?

Unless RACE shafts are better than the quaife ones I cant honestly see whats any better about their axle than the one your getting.

What diff is it running ?

yes.

pretty sure race fit the quaiffe shafts as Steves was done by them iirc.

the capri 2.8 lsd will get modded by race to accept the quaiffe shafts as they are a lot fatter, then they will upgrage the viscous in there too.

this will be good enough when done.

Sounds like you have done alright, I did ask Dingy months ago what spec is axle was but he never got back to me atleast I know now.

They said RACE shafts but tbh I wouldn't be suprised if they are the Quaife Group 1's.

I'm half tempted to go down the same route with the 2.8 diff as its what I have and plenty of others cant fault them, I've never used a ATB in a rwd car before but I wasn't that impressed with the one in my nova.

Looking like yours is coming along realy well though mate, keep it up

JonnyBravo

race said that the axle will be well up for it when it gets modded.

Phil explained to me yesterday about the axles and how Steves axle will be ok for me as i'm not going to be rallying or racing it all the time, just now and again.

and if it has been ok for Steve up to now then i'm sure it will be ok for my car.

Just got to wait about 3 months for the shell to go in to get modded.

i'm trying to get everything now, so as soon as i get it back it can then given to the painter to get it sprayed, then all built up with the bits i have.

save messing about going out buying bits again.

and also if i buy the bits now i won't be tempted to spend the money on the escort cosworth.

not done much to yours?
