Some progress in the form of this cabby.
Bought it for parts to help finish my escort off.
Its a shame to break it really but its got a knackered engine, the roof is full of holes and so its now very wet inside!
The original engine went wrong at some point and was removed by the previous owner who didnt realize when he replaced the engine he had done so with an MFI engine, so he hacked the EFI harness up and altered it for the MFI!!!!

Still need a full EFI car harness, 4 door sunroof model roof lining, a pair of rear disc conversion brackets, a 2litre zetec engine and a set of 16" mondy si alloys.
Bought brand new headlights and clear indicators last week.
There not genuine ford lamps, but there better than the rusty old tired units that were fitted before.

Im busy fettling a few thing son the car but trying to get a few things done before I added more pics, lol.
The rear arches were done by the bodyshop who painted it.
I basically supplied them with 2 pairs of rear arches and they cut them up and made them fit so the doors would open.
I will get some pics up at the weekend of the rear arches for you to have a look at.

Aye it looks worse than it is like danny.
The shell is very solid though, just the back panel has a little corrosion behind the bumper.
Ive got the shell sold on to a chap who is going to use his rotten cabby as a donor and plans to fit a 1.8 diesel engine to it
If you think its rough before, this is how it looks after ive robbed it of parts:

Ive been busy today getting some more parts fitted.
Ive now fitted the rear rs turbo lights (Big thankyou to Glennyboy for selling me his set)
Most of the windows are now in along with the front and rear wiper motor and blades etc.
Ive bought a roof lining from Egay, took me 2 years to sort 1
Ive temporarily fitted the set of 16" mondeo alloys but im going to have them refurbed before the car goes on the road.

Im using a 3mm decompression plate and 2 headgaskets to lower the compression. The engine had been stripped, cleaned and put back together with new gaskests and seals etc. It still has the 130 XR3i cams fitted. I drilled and tapped the head myself for the ERST exhaust manifold to fit. Ive also blanked the gas recirculation on the front of the block as the turbo fouls it and ive drilled and tapped a new hole in the rear to compensate. Also fitted is a drain pipe to the sump for the turbo oil return.
So everything is basicaly standard including the turbo but it will be running beige injectors, chipped ECU, front mount cooler, uprated fuel pump, power boost valve etc.
I know its not the biggest engine spec in the world, but it will have to do for now.
Just having a flick through this thread and noticed the engine and not having seen a zetec turbo with a cast manifold I read on...

Did you literally check the port spacing was the same, jig it up and drill the head for the new studs? How did you avoid waterways etc? Did any of the studs line up?

Cheers for any info you can give me!
