Project RS Ratvan... For Sale :(
Hello all!
I bought old Ratvan from a gamekeeper in my local one night at approximately 11.15pm after indulging in way to many 1664's!
we struck a deal to collect 'a' mk4 escort van from his garden the next day as his missus was throwing a wobbley about it rotting there!
anyway £20, yes twenty notes later i drove away in this......
fair play couldnt see much of it last night all i know is it stinks! too many dead pheasants have ended in here!

decided whilst on the shitter last night im going to make this a no frills budget project, cost bugger all - spend bugger all type of thing!
right to start getting busy on the bodywork!
knew what color i wanted the van from the moment i picked it up so time to get some primer on! so we could be ready to paint
no masking needed!
de-badged!.....
next for a bit of colour!

u carnt use lowering blocks on the rear of a mk4 escort van mate. cos the axle is BELOW the springs so if u fit lowering blocks it will RAISE it!
but......................if u get the rear of the van in the air & unbolt both leaf springs u can remount them UNDER the axle which will lower the van about 80mm.
heres some pics:
BEFORE:
AFTER:
if u get 8 bolts & make a metal base plate like in th 2nd pic then u can use ur original shock mount & this is allot betta way of doin it.
will look like this when completed:

best bit about the white van is it was xr3i powerd with a drilled airbox so it sounded cool aswell
u can go lower on the rear but urll need 2 get some DECAMBERD rear springs aswell & reposition the leafs
not a comfy ride thou!
