My WRC look Escort re-build -----> Cage ready 11.09.
hi guys and girls, here we go...
At first, it cost me hours to wrote this topic because of my bad english so b nice
BIG THX TO GUIDO FROM http://ellmer-autosport.de/ for his superb knowledge, best prices and the quality work he has done on my cossie!!!!!!!!!
It began in may 2005, my front left drive shaft broke and i called guido what to do. He advised me to buy a new engine (not really, he sad: we can convert it to rwd but i have an interesting engine for you). i discussed it with him and after a sleepless night i called him back and said YES let`s do it
So the journey began:
first i had to travel 650km to Guido
horrible hours, because it was my first drive with a trailer, never again!!
the man of the outstanding work with my babe
some damage on my drive shaft
few pictures of the old engine
something is missing/ready for the "new" one
after a "little" work
T4 with 360 bearing, greys, 7,4:1, RS500 cylinder head and the usual stuff
love these pics
gearbox in (standart T5)
exhaust build
new intercooler and air filter
my beloved 6 pot's
rear brakes
new fuel pump
the times goes on, so birthday greets to Guido (i know "birthday" is written wrong, but it wasn't me )
and finally ready:
It tooks nearly one year till it was ready because i had to work hard for my money
Got it back in april this year and drove it nearly 10000km without any problems
So i say it again, thx for your more than outstanding work Guido
Next plans: ZOO rear beam, pectel monitor, adj. tca's, sort out a few electrical problems... (i can hear guido rubbish his hands )
Hope you enjoyed the little "story", to be continued after this winter...

I would not say it's useless, but not very powerfull
But still missing it, love the look of the later EscCosw. engines , i'am sure there will be a very nice project out of my old engine...

@Rab: This Escort has got a T3 turbo, EEC-4 and about 300 hp with half of the fuel consumption of a standard WM Cosworth!

@Coola: The HTT Cosworths in Germany didn't have the big spoiler for higher motorway speed

@ Twins
creativecarbon still make the carbon bonnet vents
@ XR2
but there was a big spoiler on my car, and the top speed in my papers show my it was originally there... Think you were able to choose between the small or the big aerodynamic package

In Germany you had this possibility from 1995 to end of production, as I was told.
You could choose between small rear spoiler and big rear spoiler, without any price difference!

At this time it is the standart 4x4 rear beam, diff, etc.....
Hope there is enough money this winter for ZOO rear beam and 9" diff, than you get your rwd action pics At this time i'am in Switzerland and when something breake it's very expensive to bring the car the 850km to Guido, so i'am still driving like Miss Daisy
@BillyCabrio
There will be some more nice pictures, but cannot say more at this moment thx Guido

here we go again...
after more than a year with LOT'S of fun i got bored of the car
there was thoughts to sell the EsCos and buy an EVO or M3 and till the time i cleared my mind
i was allowed to drop the car at Guido from www.Ellmer-Autosport.de, most of you know him as the
horrible mission and finally i sold many parts of the car and my sweet running engine to a member here of pf.
so we can start from a bare shell
Now we are going the WRC route (of course in white), without most of the interior, with proper transmission, decent cage, a little bit more power and some "plastic" parts to reduce the weight of the car, fully adjustable suspension, etc etc...
a few months back:
i was allowed to strip a few things for my own because i was 2 months off from work, a little bit bored and i want to do a little bit on my own on my car (THX GUIDO)
2 days of hard work, icnl LOOOOOOOT's of coffee and to much cigarettes
after that i had to go back to Switzerland, back to work
last pic i've seen for my own:
that's it so far, updates soon thx for looking
