Moondust saph 4x4 (updated 19/6/14) back from paint

Chop, pics were taken at stoneywood house in bucksburn, a well hidden secret, just drove in and parked the car!!!
Suspension is standard shocks and Eibach springs, I ran really hard suspension with 18's and 35 profile tyres for years and hated every minute of it, after driving a cossie with this setup i had to have it as i prefer a compromise of comfort and ride quality and the roads up here are terrible all year round for pot holes! Realise it's not the optimum choice but i like it that way and still have the old stuff if i wanted to change it back.
Sits lower at the back as i have a rear beam, rear arms and many other bits in the boot! Arches were rolled at front and back as it was scraping, so can't go much lower and wouldn't really want to TBH.
Thanks for the comments!

Longest project in history............
I've said this about million times but it WILL be on the road soon, I now just have to wait for the AP's to come back which I have been told will be delivered next week.
Anyway, my latest mission was to replace the steering rack which, I bought a new one about 2 years ago but never seemed to have the time or the motivation to fit it.
On chnaging the rack i damaged one of the pipes which was in really good condition and the two spares i got after these were quite fankly a pile of junk.
So, i decided not to go the standard route and what you seen below is what i have done.
I have fitted the rack etc all back up and it's all fine, much better than before, only thing that might have to change is the installation of an oil cooler in the return side or a water cooler PAS tank, we'll see what it performs like in due course. i had another more detailed thread on here of the whole project but cannot seem to find it.

Well it's been a while since I last updated this thread, I've made a few changes to the car and they're all dotted around on different threads on here so I need to edit this to have the bulk of the info on this thread.
I have gone for a power upgrade and a transmission upgrade since the last time I updated this, the basics of what has been done are here:
T4 turbo
2WD manifold
Turbo hanger thingee
Siemens 83 fuel injectors
Fuel pump loom
New fan loom
Stack AFR guage
Bigger cone filter for t4
Chip/Setup
Refurbed cam cover
Lambda bosses for downpipe
Rebuild diffs
Oppliger gearkit
I had the car dyno'd and it made a healthy 400 on just over 20psi of boost, so i was happy with that.
The car is getting picked up tomorrow and taken down to Tony @ turbosystems so that he can work his magic on it and fix all the shoddy DIY myself and other people have done, and hopefully correct a few niggles here and there. I haven't called him yet but the car got some abuse at the weekend and I've done something to the box, so now it doesn't have 2nd, 4th, or reverse, I suspect it's a broken or bent selector, the box was supposed to be getting taken out when it was there anway to resolve a syncro problem, so I guess it's definately justified now...
Been a busy time for me and the old rot box this year, i have had the car since 2001 and never has it been to a tuner or RR or track or been in a magazine, but ealier this year (pics above) was it's first experience of a RR, I got a photoshoot done for PF last week, the car is away down to turbosystems this week, and i'm also 'hoping' to take it to croft in june and may track it then as well. Ticking everything off this year!
Other plans are to get the rear arches tidied, the last bodyshop did a cr@p job and with me using it a few times over winter the salt has exaggerated the problem, also the wheels are a bit scabby, but it doesn't effect how it drives obviously.

Thanks, yes that was possibly me as my office is in Portlethen so i was probably heading out there. Car is @ Turbosystems just now for some bits and pieces, needs some cosmetic work as well which will happen in the next couple of months when i've got it back and had the chance to abuse it first.

Car was picked up today, it's actually been like this since early November, give or take a few bits and pieces but I haven't had time due to work commitments (I work overseas) to get all the bits and the transport and bodshop all arranged. So at long last it went away today to get a complete makeover.
The whole car is getting painted including inside the arches, doors off, all windows/sunroof out so hoping for a good outcome and I'll post pics when I get it back. They said they will have the car for a few weeks, and I'm not back in the UK from my next stint until 21st March so I''ll see how it has progressed by then.

Thanks, it's long overdue a freshen up, I've owned it for 13 years and although its been painted in the past before my ownership, Ii've only ever had small bits and pieces done, which eventually results in a car that doesn't match in several places. The sideskirts have never been off, so there was a small bit of rust at the back where it meets the arch, as well as lots of other bits all over the car I generally wasn't happy with. There comes a time where you have to just go all in and get the whole thing done, rather than jobbing small bits here and there.

Couple of small updates.
I have been assured a few more progress photos but this is what I have so far. The arch looked ok from the outside, but I had it repaired by another bodyshop some time ago and I was never really happy with it. Anyway turns out they just welded another arch panel on over the top of the old one, and didn't touch the inner arch, so bacically they just bodged it. I discussed this when i dropped the car off so they have been pretty thorough and the whole lot ids getting cut out and replaced.
All the doors etc are apartently off it now, front & rear screens will be out early next week and they'll carry on with the prep/fabrication to fix the rusty bits.
