Moondust saph 4x4 (updated 19/6/14) back from paint

Thanks for the replies everyone! :-D
A couple of more photos of the recent work, until now they've been texting me photos, but now have my email address and are going to send more updates that way.
The passenger side rear arch I posted up the other day, basically the previous bad repair has meant that the inner arch has rusted quite badly on this side. Just goes to show if you don't fix something properly it can actually make the problem worse over time.
Anyway, they gave me the option of cutting out the rot and repairing it, but I've opted for a whole new one to be put in so it's done right.

Thanks, I haven't recieved any updated photos this week, I'm still away with work until next friday so likely won't see the car until the 24th, but hope I get some more photos sent to me before then.
I text the b/shop this morning and they said that prep work was finished on all the bolt on panels, but they had to wait for a new rear inner arch from Ford which should arrive today.
I imagine the next step will be to fit the inner arch, then do all the other pre paint prep on the shell before it goes for paint.
The only parts I have to find now are;
1) new rear window seals (for the rear doors)
2) windscreen rubbers
3) Possibly a complete lock set
Still trying for the right seals for the rear windows, but I'm told I can use front ones and just cut the ends off, or just get a really good second hand set or whole door if I have to.
The windscreen seals I'm not that fussed about, plenty places seem to do aftermarket ones and Ford still sell the one for the front screen.
Not posted photos but I broke the drivers door lock, so I need to try and fix it or get a new set, I don't want to have odd keys, but it's not an absolute necessity as i don't use the lock anyway as it's on the alarm/remote central locking.
Then i'll need to sort the wheels out......

Cheers Glenn, yeah I think so, well I will regardless of what I do with them to be honest. I'm still mulling over a set of Comp TH's or keeping these on. Had a few people interested in the RL7's but it's probably the sort of thing I'll keep and hoard in the loft even if I take them off. Even getting another set of spare wheels now is a nightmare so it'll be near impossible in about 5 years!
Anyway, will deffo get refurbed as this is costing a fair wedge, so pointless if the wheels are scabby as it'll ruin the car.

Got back to the UK yesterday and went in past today with a couple of bits that I had delivered to my house, which had kindly been sourced by Gary at rsclassics.
Anyway, I'm in a bit of a rush so I'll just upload these photos and maybe come back later with a bit more detail.

Tnaks guys, yes I wanted to take out the seats but didn't have time, I plan to take the whole lot out anyway after I build the car up. I want to get the blosters fixed and the subframes painted, but also toying with putting in cloth, i'd buy rainbow/police spec recaros in a heartbeat if i could find a set!

Some more updates, popped along to the bodyshop before I go back to work on Monday. They said it should be ready in about 3 weeks for when I get back. Then i'll have to take the seats out
All glass and sunroof out now, didn't have time to take the seats out though

Should be done by the end of the month, after that I've got to start putting trim/lights etc back on, and remove the interior. Car was booked for Croft in June but as time goes on I think that may be a bit optimistic, in reality I'll probably only get about 2 weeks to work on it between now and June.
There is also an oil leak from somewhere, do that will need to be fixed as well, I'm hoping it's not the sump, but I'm 90% sure it is

Thanks, yeah I'm looking forward to seeing it, I get back on friday morning so i'll maybe pop up for a look and see how she's doing. I think it will take a me a long time to put her back together as I don't have a lot of spare time unfortunately.
Jay, as we spoke about before it should be fine mate as long as you don't get any surprises when they start digging deeper. I ended up with another two rear arches and an inner arch even though they had been replaced about 4-5 years ago, but it transpired they'd bodged it so I had to get the whole lot cut out and done again. I'm no bodywork expert by any means but I definately didn't think that would need done!
My sills were ok apart from where the side skirt met the rear arch, but after seeing what they hacked away before they repaired it, I was pretty shocked, but I'm glad they got brutal with it and didn't just make do and put a little patch on.
Not sure how long the car will remain at the bodyshop, there are a couple of other bits I'd like a diagnoosis on, plus I asked them to paint in the arches as well, so I don't know if that will be done in the next few days or will come after the outside is done. Guess I should get a running total as well so I have time to let it sink in

Cheers, hopefully have some more updates soon, glad it's been done properly this time, is your car finished now Glenn, I mean are you happy and don't have anymore plans for it this year?
Jay, if it's that good elsewhere I wouln't be too worried mate, I'm sure it will be tip top!

Good to see you got them they look really mint aswell considering the age and the hard life they've probably had! So were they expensive then?
Anymore updates from the bodyshop on the paint situation yet m8?

Very resonably priced, considering the minefiled of old car parts, price is not always a reflection on condition unfortunately. Seats are fantastic condition, really happy with them.
I was going to swing in past the bodyshop today, but I decided to leave it until tomorrow, figured the longer I wait the more of a chance it will be painted.
I'll take some pics, if it looks any different to previous updates. I'm away again on Monday so doubtfull it'll be finished and collected by then, so basically it will sit in the bodyshop for another month I think.

Nice find!

Last night I was at a loose end, so I decided to fit a new foam bolster to the seats I had just picked up, the seller told me that the foam was knackered and kindly supplied a new piece, so I swapped it over.
Pics of the drivers seat, as you can see for a 20 year old seat it looks pretty good

Lol just in time for me going away back to work again, it should be ready for collection on Tuesday, and I'm away on Monday.....
Doors are now on, I asked them to fix the bumper mounts, they overlooked it, but are going to sort this when they stonechip/paint the arches apparently.
