1988 Escort RS Turbo Cossie Management
i got myself a nice mercury grey escort RS turbo 2months ago! its an 88 spec car with 90's spoiler and bumper its been resprayed and has 2 absolutly tiny rust spots one on roof and one under spoiler on quater,
this is how it looked when i got it, and here is what i did
well after finding this:
thought id treat the escort to this:
Nice and Solid again
but while it was like that this happened:
good thing ive got parents who love me:
thought id treat the escort to these:
Spark plugs and full service kit
New steering wheel:
Garys intercooler:
New Rad:
New smoked lights:
here is one with the steering wheel inplace:
more updates to follow after i use this;
to paint the inside!
well i finally got the dash out:
Put some krust on:
and then i got round to masking up the car:
and then a bit of primer:
and then a bit of paint:
got a fe runs on the boot bit but i aint too fussd as its covered 99% of the time!
so here is before and after!
passenger foot wells:
Drivers foot wells:
Boot:
and one final one of me looking annoyed when it started to rain!
last couple of days work!:
rear seats yey:
Front recaros even better yey!:
but still no dash
did this:
got this back today:

get thee under neath it now too.
strip off al the underseal, and re-seal after degreasing and cleaning.
will stop your handy work form looking like that again in a year or so.
thats almost exactly the same as what i did to my floor a couple of years back.

gutted! it was parked up as well oh well!
well after alot of messing with my dozy insurance company the bodyshop said the couldnt find the parts so they have given me 1k to fix it myself, woo i thought until fri when a cheque appeared for 550, they had only taken my excess off it, which i really couldnt understand as the other guy admited full liability well after another fone call it appears that they dont even have his details on system even though i gave them twice and i had had a fone call from his insurance company admiting full liability!
got a bumper and bonnet lined up (bumper is allready mercury grey)
bent the front panel on the spot lamp bracket back into place
gonna get the front panel patched up cause the damage aint that bad
and replace the bent crossmemeber and gearbox cradle (happened before i got it)
and get the whole underside cleaned off and resealed
and at the end of all that i should still have quite a few pennied left out of the 1k!!

oh yeah the wheels were shite got a set of standards fitted much better imo!
next mods:
finally fit intercooler,
fit cossie brakes
and possibly fit rear discs (but its overkill and cause problems) but they look cool!

hi mate shame about the damage
i was just wondering if when you sprayed the booet and inside did you know u can ajust the air cap and pattern settings so that you get a nice even over lap rather than using it on spot (like a hand can)
u can acchive 10 times nicer results
not mocking your work as i enjoy seeing people doing stuff for there self just offering some advice my friend
look forward to seeing her back on the road mate

Nice progress so far.and a pity about the damage. These cars tend to attract idiot drivers.Had someone open there door on me whilst driving out of a petrol station. Also had the police arrest some one who they were chasing ,as he ran past my car in traffic, they caught him and threw him against my car (DENTING MY QTR PANEL).
At least you have got the BEST COLOUR.
