Default Fiesta Rear Braking Kit

I'm currently rebuilding my XR2i (1.6 8v) into a M reg 1.1 shell (long story involving a blind old dear and my perfect white minter - you get the picture).
With regards to braking, I'm looking at the rear brake kit from the Fiesta Centre. I've already got the cossie rear calipers that are a pre-requisite, but I was interested if any of you guys had this upgrade and what difference it made to braking, if any? I'm trying to keep it standard exterior wise, so i've got standard 2i alloys. Doing the upgrade for looks isn't a factor as you all know you cant see jack past those alloys!

With regards to power it's cam'd (full CVH32k kit), polished, chipped and all the normal others, and I hope to get a Specialised Engines 1.9 CVH bottom for it this summer once the bodywork's all finished, so clearly I want it to stop when the next old dear pulls out infront of me!

Cheers in advance

instead of using the cossie setup, you could get a zetec s/late model ka rear beam and some focus 2.0 brakes and stub axles. this will make the car roughly 20mm wider each side. thats what i am using on my current project.
not sure about the cossie setup

thanks

this could help me for my fiesta too, i need to make the rear wider and need better rear stoppers, so you just replace the whole stub axle onto the end of the fiesta one am i right,

is it a bolt on affair or is any cutting and welding needed, i currently hav a set of zetec s rear drums to go on but i would prefer to use discs

hi mate!
i paid £40 for the rear beam from ford salvage in barnsley, south yorkshire (im very lucky, got ford salvage down road, my uncle owns a scrappy and my brother works at a car auctions and knows all the major breakers in the area). most people pay around £70 - 80 for them i believe. my uncle has the focus 2.0 rear brakes, but i havent taken them off the car, these usually do about 120 quid on ebay (with the stub axles, which you will need). you then just unbolt the rear drums (and drill the two rivets out) to take the drums off (which are quite large actually). then i believe you just bolt up the focus 2.0 stub axles. i will let you know when i do it and any problems i encounter. in the meantime have a look at the topic i have started (https://passionford.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=197247) where i have written about what i did.

Default Is it worth it?

Thanks for the help on how to get it done, but i still want to know if its WORTH getting done. Some things i've seen suggest that you don't get much more braking power from it.

having big brakes on the front is one thing, but the better they are on the front then the less hard you will be pressing them, so the rears will be getting less power to them, altho a bias valve can help sort this a little bigger and better rear brakes help as they are more controllable, small drums are very on off and are a bitch to keep perfectly set up,

a mate of mine has a 205 rally car with massive discs on the front and standard 1.9 gti discs on the rear, he then got a kit that made the rears 300 mm using the standard calipers and the difference was awsome apparently, in his words, the brakes just all of a sudden worked,

thats why ill be going big discs on the rear eventually
