Thanks all The cage is by Protection and performance in Skipton. Its a 6 point bolt in built to the new MSA regs which require the rear diagonals to be in the main hoop. Its well solid too

Still got a big list of things to do before Croft on the 9th July. Bigger brakes, Coilover ,e.t.c.

Yep got it from Skipton, one hell of a drive with a trailor.

Did some big changes to the car. One was converting to RHD
Some pics
Bulkhead out.

This may not catch on

The finished job.

Well a lot of work went in to the car before Croft due to knocking out the bottom end bearings at Donington

The BOA is now stuck on an engine stand. Its now been changed for a BOB 24V, but running off the BOA ecu and loom

Well it stood up to 2 days at the Durham and Derby Trackday. I had a blast
It still handles like shit, but its fun.
After letting Paul Linfoot have a drive in his words "its fucking lethal, but fun"

I think the rear beam or one of the arms is bent, so tme to change them out

Big thanks to Paul, Northyorkshire RS Spares for letting me butcher a Saff for the bits

A small rebuild and time to fix all the broken bits before the Durham Derby RSOC day at Croft

Its always been a bit of wild ride and some what unpredictable. So after some poking about i found what may have been the problem.

The rear axle was from a Saff 4x4 an due to a short deadline for Croft 2 years ago i had to just fit the axle without checking it.
I have now found it had been fitted with one arm from an xr4x4, these are a different camber and toe to the 4x4 cossie one. End result the wheel pointing in different directions

In the pic you can just see the difference in the bushes fitted to the standard cossie arm (bearing type) and the rubber ones on the xr arm.
XR arm nearest in the pic

So time to fit my spare 7 1/2" beam and some xr4x4 poly bushed arms. The diff is a welded 7 1/2" with big flanges so i can use the thick driveshafts. The hubs are Scorpio ones with vented discs, same as the 4x4 cossie. And a 18mm 4x4 ARR. And some new 400lb rear springs.

Now onto the front.
The TCA's are adjustable and for sometime there had been a knocking coming from them. One of the rose joints had worn out, new ones ordered and fitted.

And refitted, As you can see i run 4x4 hubs but with the shafts removed. They give a wider track with the xr4x4 hubs.

Only the seats to re-mount, starter to change and some new stickers to fit.

Group C

Got the seats back in and decided that the inside looked crap. So without repainting the floor the only thing was to put a carpet back in.
Also adjusted up the TCA's, big camber but ran out of adjustment on the steering so can't get it to track right. Going to have to reduce the camber a bit until the toe comes back to zero.

Fully working rev counter taped to the cage

I had the springs that came with the avo coilovers, 320lb 8" front and 220lb 11" rear. They were too soft for the track. Fitted 500lb front and the 320lb on the rear. Worked ok but still too soft on the rear and they were too short causing the rear to be too low.
Added some shortened standard springs as well and that worked better so i have now got 400lb 12" on the rear. Not tried it yet but should be about right.
Also i run a 4x4 cossie rear roll bar 18mm and a Dohc sierra front roll bar.

Jacked it up to check the steering rack and with the front left less than 4" off the floor, only the opposite rear wheel was still on the floor . Think its stiff now

I'll be running 909 bilsteins, with a rose jointed solid mount rear beam, otherwise it will be standard 4x4 stuff with poly bushes, and will hopefully sort out some springs this week.
Also running competition kumho ecstas.
Look forward to seeing you at croft, we must have a chat.

Default 3 door trackcar up date.

Well feel i need to do a bit more to my sierra. Its had a few years unchanged and be reliable but think it needs a bit more power.
Also need to change the looks a bit, well may do.

First got a bit sticker happy before Croft RSOC show this year and it went from this

To this

Realy not to sure on it. Spotted a forza thread and went form there.

or could go and copy Ade's saff

Think the twin lights need to go too? which way?

Boot spoiler. At the moment is a Saff one. But i like the big wing look also on the forza thread

Then the engine. Its still got a BOB 24V cossie in. How it has taken the punishment i dont know. But it needs a bit more go.
So i have a pair of R33 GTR turbos. Hopefuly that should pep it up some. Looking to run .8 bar boost and see what happens.

The turbos to go on.

Also on the cards is an adjustable rear beam and wider wheels

I thought it was quick enough as it was Rob. Will you have to change rhe pistons for the turbo conversion.

I think you should keep the morretes. Will be a good cold air feed for the turbos.Would look cool with 2 air filters behind the lights

Just picked up a twin turbo engine for my sierra, but as for track work, a mk2 fiesta hillclimb car is now the weapon of choice.
Do the 12v turbo manifolds fit the 24v?

yep,you can get 320BHP on a standard engine, adding some forced air, and a little Megacum management, not bad power at all, you may get 350bhp for a bit on standard compression with a good map.

No. The 12V only have 2 ports each side.

I started on a single turbo manifold to fit a T3 on. But i was told by someone running one that it runs out of boost quick. There are other big turbo's for a single turbo use but as the GTR turbos were £100 i'll start with them.

The single turbo manifold i started. This was to mount the turbo at the front passenger side of the engine. With a link pipe to the drivers side.

How hard is it to convert to BOB on the BOA loom and ecu? Is it worth the effort?

There are about 8 wires to extend on the BOA loom to fit the BOB. TPS, IACV and coil pack all need to be a little longer.
The BOB seems better than the BOA and does make more power. I dont have the Variable inlet working but if it is switched right then thats worth another 20ft/lbs+ on mid range power

If the car stays white then keep the twin lamps for air feeds as said but paint them black.

Was ye not selling it at one point? - You must've seen the light.

Lights were blue when I got them

Was going to sell it but having over £3.5k in it, no one was coming up any where near that.
