Default My S2 resto project UPDATE 03 MAY 06

After owning my s2 for 3 years ive decided its time to restore it to its former glory! I was going to sell it,then i decided i wanted a 2.1 but upon inspecting the cars underside i realised it needed more work...so i stripped it

ive been workin on the car for a few weeks now and so far ive stripped the interior and cleaned the undersid(just for now until its all done)but when all the undersides been cleaned and the welding done il spray it...

the next step is new chassis rails though as i was just going to get them welded up but i wanna do it properely!

thats the story so far..once the undersides done il strip the engine out and have the roof sorted...pics so far...ive decided that im not going to rush it as i wanna do it properely!

this is the rust on the drivers floor

This is the rust where the inner and outer sill meet, both sides pretty similar

This is the offending rear chassis rail the other aint so bad cant wait til there gone and new ones are in

and this is the car looking bare, got most of the sound deadening out, which was a pain...that not rust all over the floore by the way its stains fromn the sound deadening!

Progress has been slow due to work, going out and hangovers

However i have managed to strip the dash out, revealing more rot and the wiring loom which will be replaced by an EFI one!

The fuse box area is badly rotten, and the batterey tray has been replaced, but badly so il be replacing that to!

Iside behind the fusebox!

Fuse box

Ive also stripped the entire bay, except the engine and box!

Im eager to get all my welding work done and out the way so i can get on with making good thn i can start thinkin bout the engine...but Rome wasnt built in a day! Im also running out of room to store all the goodies ive got!
