I just sold one, mine was the V8 too. They do like to have a few electrical gremlins though but when they are good they just have such a nice air about them.

They can tend to get torque converter judders around 100k and sometimes they clunk in to first gear at junctions.

Most faults clear with a turn it on and off again.

I do miss my heated steering wheel and mine had gate and garage opener built in to the rear view mirror which was nice and handy.

They go really well for such a big beast, I am sure mine was chipped

Thankfully the weak point on them, the gbox, was replaced last year. All is good with this one. Love the double glazing. Took it on a long journey and it was like sitting on a sofa, was playing catch the ball with the kids in the back lol

This is the petrol v8

My neighbour has a tdv6 hst, costs him about 2k in repairs every other month but loves it as it's never cost him a penny!
A lot of car for the money and yours looks really nice,my pal and me did a gum all type rally in Scotland in his dads v8 sport when it was new,it hurt how fast it accelerated, stopped and cornered, was very impressed especially being around 2 tons and being the size it was,we were mixing with nobles,Porsches and tvrs.

Yes, the double glazing is brilliant and you can drive the length of the country, get out and not feel tired. They have a real class about them too I think. (although I did notice that people don't like letting you out of turnings etc..)

I bet the Petrol one goes well? Is this the Supercharged one? I drove a supercharged sport and it did go well with really good throttle response.

I sold mine and bought a new 3 series estate waiting for the prices to drop a bit more on the new shape as I plan to get a new shape full fat one quite soon, the interiors are supposed to be even higher quality and rival a Rolls by all accounts.

My mate is a trader and sells high end cars, he has a Pagani, Enzo and Mac P1 for sale right now along with loads of Bentleys and 3 Maybachs....what does he drive around in every day?....2011 Range Rover Vogue SE.

A land rover independent specialist not far from me bought a brand new cancelled order range rover, high spec etc, after 6 months the chassis cracked, land rover bought it back for more than he paid, apparently it's a very common fault on the new shape.
Shame nowadays they can't make cars as reliable as they once were, nowadays it's electrics and Diesel engine problems that scrap a car whereas it was rust before.

Its not a supercharged one no, its about 300hp 60 is in about 8 secs i think. Does go well for an apartment on wheels. It excels on the motorway.

The 2010 had about 500hp from a 5.0 charged V8

Agree about not letting you out. People look at you with disgust I found where as my cossies and last ltd impreza type r their faces were more like in awe

I wonder why people hate them....I just think that you need to drive with some "fuck off" about you as that what people expect you to be like.

I think my tdv8 had around 300 /330 bhp but it made a shed load of torque. It genuinely felt golf gti quick

Lovely car mate. Mind, I am biased as I also own one. An 08 plate TDV8. Very nice place to sit and waft around in. Whilst I really shouldn't tempt fate, mine has been very reliable over the 12 months I've had it. Just a drop link. Looking for one of the latest L322 4.4 TDV8 just now.

what do the v8 diesels sound like? What kind of mpg do you get? I think the 2010 onwards are impressive from the inside

Worth you both checking you are not on the brake line recall. I have just been written to saying that up to 2010 / 2011 they are doing a safety recall on the brake pipes.

My V8 Diesel sounded ok to drive, certainly not horrible and rattly. I got 26 mpg on average over 25,000 miles.

The 4.4 V8 is supposed to be even better. Austin Owen car sales have one for sale now and (I think it is a different one to the one on his site and I think he said he was about to drop the price on it)

Had my front brakes done last year mate on a recall, are we talking about the same thing?

Sounds lovely when I boot it, of course round town it's a wee bit thirsty, but on a run easily gets low to mid 30's. I run mine on BP Ultimate. It is on 146000 and runs as sweet as anything. No smoke and very quiet (for a diesel). It's got ivory interior which is holding up well. It doesn't get used that often as I walk or cycle to work. Only used a tenner of fuel last month. I thought that leaving it for long periods would cause issues, but nothing yet.

The last of the 322 get the LCD dash and of course the 4.4 have the 8 speed box as opposed to the 6 speed. I;m trying to find a 4.4 in grey with ivory, with the cooling, reclining rear seats and the higher spec speakers (1200w against the standard 900w -least I think thats the difference). Struggling to find one.

Edited, that one at Austin Owen has been for sale for a looong time. The interior is a horrible colour, and the exterior green is marmite as well. All IMHO, however it does have electric side steps which were an expensive option and the rear reclining seats are nice.

AUSTIN has another one, not on his site, his Mrs is running about in it, it is a 4.4 and I believe it is LCD dash. I drove an autobiography black last of that model, the owner said that the all round cameras failed all the time but other than that was great.
